I guess some people here must have heard of them, so I'm surprised their albums haven't been reviewed yet as they're getting quite big in Britain. I know Goat of Mendes wasn't a great album but Choronzon was, and I'd like to see a decent (ie. not kerrang or metal hammer) review of their new album - Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone. |

I didn't listen to them on the radio, only found out they were on it when I looked at the website today (and thatwas for no real reason). Didn't know they put people off by wearing the suits, i always reckoned it was the unabashed satanist thing that put off most people. Plus the fact that most british fans seem to be converting to mindless metalcore these days means that bands like Akercocke are just ignored. Which I'm quite happy with as when bands get big they die bad. CoB's new album is good but inferior to all before (well, maybe equal to Something Wild), Arch Enemy's new album was great live where everything was faster and louder but the album is boring, and I'm dreading In Flames new album Come Clarity. Didn't mind Soundtrack... so much but it was incredibly inferior to Colony, Clayman and Whoracle. |

They've gone very proggy. The older albums are good as well, if a bit worse production-wise. |

I always thought that their best pre-Choronzon song was Horns of Baphomet. But A Skin For Dancing In is good. The CD for Goat of Mendes I have has the video on it for Infernal Rites...and if you think the albm covers are bad then this video is basically softcore pron, nekkid women for everyone! (and Akercocke members in suits if you happen to be a woman). Metal Reviews should definately review them sometime. |

I've heard a few Akercocke songs and I've always thought that I should be enjoying what I'm hearing, but for some reason I'm just not. Weird. And it's nothing to do with the suits, Zadfrey. |

I like them a bunch. I'm pleased to hear about a more proggy direction, because David Grey is a really talented drummer. |
