I know I'm new but this an idea that I would just like to throw out there for consideration:

Instead of sticking to system in which 'Classic' ratings are given out, maybe a new method could be experimented with. Pick a handful of albums that the reviewers would deem as 'Classic' and let the visitors/members vote or offer their input on whether or not they deserve the title. Maybe this could educate everyone on different approaches to the album's worth; I know how some people are less educated in certain types of metal than others. I'm not saying that there's much of anything wrong with the current system, but maybe it would be more interesting if the members could come to a consensus on an album. Maybe this will start debates on whether or not albums should become Classics instead of why the hell are these albums Classics. Thanks.

Thats a nice idea, would probably work best in some kind of poll format.

I think we have to achieve a better system of reviewing classics rather than every half-year or so, "oh look, here's a classic!". In the Classics forum there's a thread 13 pages long on what people want to see reviewed as Classics. Tackle that, members of the team!

well, I think getting the classic metal devoted people on this very forum to review for the website would solve just about everything... Holy Terror could do some and so could Lizardtail or Brahm K or yourself...

I'd be up for submitting a few CLASSICS every now and again, if my reviews were good enough...The only review I've ever written was my Deicide one.

no, they won't... because then it would be clear how poor musicians and composers most metal bands are when compared to Genesis, King Crimson & Van der Graaf Generator !

I thank you for the suggestion, but I'm pretty sure I'm a poor reviewer, and in any case Holy Terror and you have a broader knowledge of tge classics than I do. I nominate he and you!
