I have a little problem with the labelling in the beginning of the reviews. If I'm serarching for rock in the search-section, it wont list the reviews which is labelled Kick-ass rock or whatever. Kind of annoying.

I agree, but the genre label in the review has nothing to do with that. When one of us, usually the person who did the review, enters the band's information into the database, there is a section where we can select one or more genres. This list that we have to choose from is the same list you see in the search menu. Sometimes, people forget to do this. If you find a band in particular with this problem, let me know and I will go in and change it.

That's strange. I thought I noticed when I searched "Power Metal", it seemed like less than half the bands actually labelled that came up. I might be crazy.

The only one I noticed right away is Kiuas didn't come up under a search for Power Metal.

EDIT: Also none of the HammerFall reviews come up either.

EDIT EDIT: None of the Angel Dust reviews, either.

The genre part of the search function isn't the best in the world... Much better to type in the band name.

of course... but if you are in the prog mood and are looking for some new prog metal-bands, it's nice to get all of them listed.

Yeah of course, but I think it would be better to use Metal Archives then.

That's because anyone can write a review there. I think a lot of people download an album, listens to it and halfway through they think "zomg!!!11one! this fawkin' r00lz!!" and then they write a review based on that.

I've been reading reviews here for about two years I think since the reviewers here are a lot more open minded than others, I only stick to the archives for genre reasons. I hate getting stupid arguments to whether a band plays "deathcore" or "death metal/metalcore". I just refer to that site and kindly tell the guy to go fuck himself.
