OOH I PLAY IT~!

Check out the basses here. From what I've heard, they're some of the best basses for the price range.

Yeah I do. I'm a beginner though. Just bought my first bass a week ago. Enjoying myself like fuck. You should try Squiers. They are pretty good. Try to go for something that's a bit higher in price. The cheaper Squiers here are like shit. The one I bought is superb. Everyone seems to be jealous of me now. Haha!!! It's not really that expensive.

Dunno, but I'm looking at a package deal from Allan's Music. You get a bass, amp, case and strap for about $500.

What's the brand of the bass and the amp?

I have no idea. I really should pay more attention to these details.

Your all pussies. My first guitar was that package shit and it was a no make ala pieceacrap. Now I have teh Jackson. Learn on a piece of shit, it doesn't matter.

Agreed, actually learning on a piece of shit makes you better since the better-made brands make playing easier.

Well it's pretty true about learning on a less branded gear. It works. It makes the person a better musician. But if it's in an affordable range and within your budget, why not just get it? It saves you from buying a better one later in future. Plus, by getting something that's a little pricey above the rest, your motivated to play it. You wouldn't want to waste it. Some people just buy and play a few months and give up. With an instrument that was quite expensive, your deffinitely gonna feel guilty if you shove it aside. This of course, depends on you. If your serious about stuff, go for it. If you just wanna fool around it just for fucks, go cheap.

Bad gear = harder to play = frustrating = you quit

I take it we have a new Eerie Von in the making?

I agree, just buy a "Trainer" for cheap, then upgrade once you don't sound like a wounded dog wailing for it's life.

all i know is that after playing a body-thru neck ibanez for one and a half years has ruined me. I don't like playing les pauls or strats or telecasters cuz it's too rough. the whole thing. But i do like the 80s washburn flying v my music store has.

Rough as in?
I get what Frigid said. Not all gears are the same. Each make has it's own feel. I played on my friends Washburn flying V and I found a hard time. And it's impossible to sit and play on a V, for me. But I love my other friend's Jackson Warrior. He got it fot RM 2300 a few years ago and now it's priced at RM 4000. Beautiful shit.

I'm gonna go back on what I said before. Fuck the price shit. Test a few guitars and make sure you try them a few times each. Play something that you know or love playing. Which one sounds the best and is the most comfortable, go ahead with it. If the sound isn't satisfactory, you can upgrade it later.

Well, first I will concentrate on accumulating a vast warchest of funds, then I will go exploring my options.

If you amass enough funds, Spector basses are the sexiest things I've ever played. Too bad they cost so much.

Warwicks are pretty damn sexy too.

How much is 600 francs in USD?

Anyway, speaking of sexy basses, I fell in love with Tom Arraya's signature ESP bass  .
