I'm an Aussie but have been an NFL fan for over 15 years (Dolphins rule, by the way). The first Super Bowl i saw here on tv was Super Bowl XXVI (Washington vs. Buffalo), i had been following it during that season.
Since then havent missed a single regular season game, playoff game or Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XL was OK at best. It was a great effort for Pittsburgh to defy the odds, being the 1st 6th seed to make and win the Super Bowl and beating the 1, 2 and 3 AFC seeds on the road.

But the Steelers didnt play that well, like i said to a friend before, Pittsburgh didnt beat Seattle, the Seahawks beat themselves with stupid penalties, dropped catches and missed opportunities.

The Stones looked like they didnt want to be there, which didnt help.

Good to see Jerome Bettis finally win a Championship after 13-14 seasons, then retire as a champion; and good for Coach Cowher to finally get his Super Bowl ring after so many failures at the AFC Championship. I bet he's loving that he doesnt have to go to Hawaii this season.

The only other good thing to come from Super Bowl XL was the 2 new records set. 75 yard rushing TD to Willie Parker, to break the previous 74 yard by Raider Marcus Allen, and an interception returned for the most number of yards. Plus the first time ever a Wide Receiver has passed for a TD, did you see that perfect spiral on Randle El's pass?

WR Hines Ward was a deserving winner of the MVP....there really wasnt anyone else, except for maybe RB Willie Parker.

Yeah, too bad they suck. Every year they are supposed to be better and every year they stay in the 4-6 win range. Maybe they will turn things around next year.

You should see what it's like being in Detroit. Home of the Lions, who for most, redefine sucktitude. But I root for them anyway since I do have hometeam loyalty. Though it will certainly take more than one or two good players to get them back into shape.

Last night's super blow was a miss because I couldn't watch it. I'd rather watch a real football game anyway.

They did show a few glimpses of what they could become during the preseason and with their wins during the season. Its still a young team but not only have the best kicker going round, but the best tandum WR's in the NFL, with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. Those 2 are superstars in the making. They will improve on their awesome performance this season. Your defence still needs work but it has improved. All you need now is to have a running game, which was non existent this season. Hopefully J.J Arrington will improve in the 2006 season. Also need a decent QB. Kurt Warner isnt the man and Josh McCown is so inconsistent. But i see good things from Arizona in the next few seasons if all the pieces can come together.

I could care less about football, I was just in it for the food. Plus, the (Str)olling (B)ones were hilarious.
