Just wondering if there are any fans of any of the story arcs, characters, or timelines of the broader Star Wars extended Universe here. The EU is basically anything apart from the original 3 films and the prequels, and covers anywhere from 3500 years before the main films, to 150 years afterward with the Darth Krayt, Darth Caedus, and Imperial remnant era. While some of the writing may be off in some regards and some of the characters appearing only in comics, has anyone hear ever read or had any interest in any other Star wars story arcs? |

I've played a bit of the Star Wars videogames that lie outside the matter of the six films, such as Knights of the Old Republic. Other than that, I've lost interest in sci-fi, but I will be dragging my girlfriend along to the new Star Wars films when they appear in theatres. |

Think I might have read some of the comics years ago, and The Force Unleashed is on my 'to play when I see it cheap' list, but otherwise... Curious about the new films and have a Darth Vader poster, so I guess I'm enough of a fan to count. |

I read nearly every book from Truce at Bakura to the Yuuzhan vong era. I think I stopped reading about three or four books from finishing it. I've considered going back and finishing it but never have. never read much of the Old Republic stuff due to it being in comics but the Ulic Qel Droma/Exar Kun storyline always stood out to me as pretty awesome. |

The Post-Empire stuff doesn't really do it for me, they kind of made the original plot line pointless i,e "balancing the force" as Palpatine and remnants of the empire still existed. Then came godlike characters like Abeloth and I wasn't as interested. I liked the tragedy of Darth Caedus though and Darth Krayt struck me as a visionary for trying to reform the Sith order. They should do something different with the storyline in the new movies |

They should do something different with the storyline in the new movies idk destroying the death star and killing Palptie doesn't guarantee that the Empire would collapse given how it was a bureaucratic system with a military still in place. The struggles of capturing Coruscant, Thrawn's push, the new Jedi academy, all worked for me. Some of the later stuff worked less like the Corellian series, but the new Jedi order battling the Yuuzhan Vong was legit enough. The Solo kids were decent enough to carry that stuff. I have no idea who Abeloth or either Darth is so I feel like I'm not missing much. Especially if they weren't written by Kevin J Anderson. |

Darth Caedus is Jacen Solo's title as Dark lord of the Sith which he gradually becomes well immediately following when he kills the strongest Vong Alien. He was the apprentice to Lumiya and he wreaked havoc on the Galaxy and even killed Mara Jade Skywalker. |
