gonna try to set up a forum version of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game) Rules: - voting closes at 10pm PST every night, if you don't vote for 2 consecutive nights without pming me a reason, you will be modkilled. - put the name of the person you're voting for in bold in a reply to this topic. If you're unvoting, put unvote:(name) in bold as well, so it's easier for me to keep tally - pming is allowed and encouraged, as long as you're alive. Dead people PMing information is not allowed. Dead people talking in the topic is also not allowed - only a plurality of votes is required to kill someone. If there's a tie, I'll flip a coin - you may vote: no lynch - roles will be chosen randomly and the people chosen will be PMed their role. If you don't receive a PM and your name is on the player list, it means you're an innocent playing this on another forum and its fun. just post if you want to play, i'll be the narrator. if there's enough people i'll add in some other roles. Roles: Mafia (5): Not innocent. the mafia are aware of each other's identities and each day they get a vote to kill one person. win if only mafia are left alive. Cult Leader (1): Not innocent. each day gets to choose to either kill one person or convert one person into a cult member. wins if only members of the cult are left alive. Seer (1): Innocent. each night can divine the role of one person. Blood Brothers (2): Innocents. no special abilities, but they have the knowledge of the other's innocence. Bodyguard (1): Innocent. each night the bodyguard can choose one person to protect. if that person is attacked by either the mafia or the cult leader, the bodyguard is killed instead, and can then can choose one person to take down along with them. Vigilante (1): Innocent. once a day the vigilante can choose a person to kill. Innocents (8): no special abilities. win when all the members of the mafia and cult have been killed. |

stupid wikipedia link... just copy/paste it with the (party game) part and read that basically the ignorant majority try to kill off the mafia (minority). the group gets to vote to lynch one person per night, and the mafia gets to kill one person per night. whoever lives wins. if enough people sign up i'll add in special roles >.> |

Mafia (also known as Werewolf or Assassin) is a party game modeling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them. During the night phase of the game, the Mafia choose an innocent to kill. During the day phase, all players debate the identities of the Mafia and vote to kill someone whom the majority suspect. Players are eliminated until only innocents or mafia remain; the surviving side wins. Mafia is rarely played in groups of fewer than five, and must always start with more innocents than mafia. I think I am starting to get it now. |

I'm in! I love this game! I haven't played it since highschool. When we played, whoever got murdered had to make up a fun and gruesome way that they got killed. It was always humourous. |
