I figure 'greetings' is the most metal way to introduce myself.

Anyways, hello, I've been checking out this forum here, and it looks very friendly with a wide array of fans of many different bands. So I plan on visiting here a couple times a day, in hopes of striking up some good music conversations.

Scanning through my iTunes library, some of the artists I see are:

Antestor
As I Lay Dying (just a side note here, but has anyone ever noticed it should be Lie--not Lay? lol)
Black Sabbath (o' course)
Blind Guardian
Chevelle (a lil)
Children of Bodom
Deep Purple
Dethklok
Disturbed
DragonForce (no collection is complete without some)
Dream Evil
Finntroll
Firewind
Foo Fighters (best mainstream)
Gojira
Guns N' Roses
Hammerfall
Heart (Barracuda anyone?)
Helloween
Jimi Hendrix
Job for a Cowboy (meh, only a couple)
Kamelot
LZ (oh yes)
Norther
Pyramaze
Serenity
Sonata Arctica
Symphony X
Trivium
Wintersun

Phew, that about does it.

Expose me to new music!!

Hmm interesting point. Maybe they mean it in a way "As I lay waste/death" but they use the gerund "dying" to show a slower, continuous and non-instantaneous way of death (perhaps with self-inflicting effects as well).
...
Pfff I don't know wtf I'm saying, probably they just messed up.

Ooh! I didn't even know about this guy and his work. Apparently it's pretty big in english-speaking countries. The title still doesn't make sense but I suppose my naive explanation is nothing compared to the pages that have been written about it so I'll just step back quietly....

WOOT

I also play Runescape on the side too.

Anyone got some bands they think I should check out, judging from what I said I liked?

Runescape suxxxx!! But seriously, it's terrible. If you want a good MMORPG try World of Warcraft or Guild Wars, and if you want free try Maple Story or Silkroad. All 1000+X better than Runescape.

But anyhow, as for the bands you've just gotta start checking out a bunch of samples on MySpace and stuff when you see a band's name. There's too much to recommend just a few bands....although for the record, you should check out Dream Theater if you like Symphony X.

Yea I figured I'd get a reply like that. lol But I've been playing RS for 5 years now, and I've played all the games you've mentioned except for Silkroad.

Here lately though RS has been letting me down with some whack-ass updates.

Well, you're crazy then . I can't fathom anyone preferring Runescape over World of Warcraft as an actual game...but I guess here's an example.

Yea, I can't help but always going back to my MMO roots. Plus I'm omega rich in RS, so that explains so of my preference lol.

Ha, I was into Runescape for a while. Then I got sick of mining coal and decided to stay away from MMORPGs forever. I occasionally go on to confuse people and piss off RS players who take themselves way too seriously for fun.

Oh yes, and welcome. And Zelda rules.
