Hear about the douchebag in Ohio who was arrested in a Dark Knight Rises theatre with a bag full of guns and knives? An off duty cop thought he looked suspicious with a big duffle bag, arrived 30 minutes early, and was sitting by himself.

The Five Year Engagement - Sweet, funny, good date film. Quite like Jason Segel, plus of course Emily Blunt is hot, as is Alison Brie (doing an English accent!)

I quite like Jason Segel as well, but I didn't know if I should see this because my tolerance for romantic comedies is pretty low. I can deal with formulaic genres when I dig the payoff, like slasher movies for example. They're all the same, but I love prosthetic gore effects, so I deal with the formula to see the cool shit. Seeing boy get girl isn't enough of a payoff.

With that said, I thought Forgetting Sarah Marshall was ok since it cleverly played around with the formula a little bit. Is this one formulaic romcom or does it have a clever script?

Well it is a romcom, and is produced by Judd Apatow, so in a sense you know what you'll get... Did think it was a step up in quality from general romcoms, though, not least for being a more realistic look at what challenges couples face, and for being quite funny of course. It's more about a couple who are together from the start, rather than a couple who come together at the end. Not sure I'd recommend it to someone who doesn't want a good date movie, though!

I watched Pinnochio today. It had great music and a good moral (Don't be a fuck up, kids, we can see through your lies.)

You ever see the Roberto Benigni version of Pinocchio?

Weird, weird shit.

That looks like an exciting movie. I have a movie called "Hunger" which has been directed by Steve McQueen.

If you think car chases are even slightly entertaining, watch Bullitt now. It kicks ass.

Incredibly hyped-up turd of a film.

Tucker And Dale vs Evil - nice idea (bad college kids! nice hillbillies!) but a bit of a meh film. Entertaining enough for a cheap horror.

Commando. Classic.

Baby Mama. Poehler and Fey failing at being funny, it's no 30 Rock.

rly? trailer looks awesome, that Iko Uwais guy seems cool, and a forumite or two here loved it.

anyway it's extremely unlikely to come out in Portugal, at least in the cinema.

Comes out here on DVD next week. I certainly plan on watching it and voicing my opinion.

I understand why other people might like it. Personally I have seen a million martial arts films and this one is nothing special. If you want more of the same, then I guess you'll like it, otherwise you'll be bored. I thought it was one of the cheesiest and dumbest films I have ever seen. I really don't understand the rating it has received on IMDb, I'm guessing it's an age thing because there really isn't anything special about this one.

Watched "Play Misty For Me" this weekend, 70's Clint Eastwood thriller.

We were all talking (family gathering) and it was on in the background, there was my 2 yr old niece and 3 yr old nephew playing. All of a sudden everyone goes quiet and my nephew asks "what are they doing"? Clint Eastwood is all over this chick naked in a waterfall. Every adult in the room dives for the remote. :D

Geez, I'm almost on a streak here. First The Raid, now this piece of shit. Why do people like these films?
