Was about to post something funny about Match Point and Hugh Jackman, but I realized I mixed it up with Scoop. Too much ScarJo for me to handle.

@DevWaldude: how was it?

Pretty darn good. Much better than any of the Maguire movies. But the preview for the Dark Knight Rises had me distracted all night. Dennis Leary is good tho.

Yeah, Spider-Man was great, and it puts the Raimi trilogy (at least pts. 2 and 3) to shame IMO. And 'dat James Horner score... beautiful.

As for The Dark Knight Rises... I'm not really excited for it. I love both Batman Begins and TDK, but the trailers haven't done much to get me interested. Bane just sounds silly. "Oim Gothom's Reckineeng". Blah. I'll still see it (and I'll probably really like it) but I doubt it'll be as good as the first two.

I have to admit I don't understand the hype ('hype' maybe isn't the word, let's say 'enthusiasm') for the last Batman movies. Ledger was great, but besides that... I don't get it. But again, there are so many things I don't get, who cares.

Because they are good movies?

They may not be the best movies ever made like people let on, but they are still kick ass movies and far better then any other version of Batman ever.

It is fucking known.

Hands down they are. I wasn't discussing that. It's just when you hear some people, it's like they talk about the second coming of Jesus or something.

Did you know when filming the movie Phoenix Down or whatever the hell it's called, the one with Steve Zahn where they are POWs, he only ate 1 apple and 1 can of tuna a day?

You'd think a multi millionaire actor such as himself would of got a better contract.

I'm with you, the Dark Knight is awesome, but the rest is totally meh material, like most american hero movies.

Rescue Dawn, yeah, not only him but the other guys lost a lot of weight to shoot this. The director himself lost 30 pounds or something, just out of sense of solidarity. According to IMDB. And Bale lost 55 pounds, wow.

Dedication to the job.

Begs the question: do superhero movies get made by studios outside of Los Angeles?

I thought Dark Knight was fine (mainly Ledger and the Bank Robbery influences from the great Heat), but I never understood why Batman Begins was thought of so highly. I thought it was bloated, and the training scenes dragged forever.

Good point. But there are exceptions, like Hero with Jet Li.

Talking about hero comics, I much prefer the japanese ones. I never understood why all american heroes have that tight dresses, looks ridiculous imho.

Ah, Equilibirum. The movie that accomplished ripping off a dozen.

Sean Bean was great IIRC though. As always.
