saw Prometheus, hated it. every character is a complete fucking idiot.

- why is there a MALE med-pod in Charlize Theron's room? and while they are rare, surely a company that can blow a trillion dollars on a ship that is probably one of a kind can afford to pack two of them!
- the fucking geologist. so he's a fucking hardass when the biologist prick comes to talk to him, talking like a fucking mercenary or some shit, and then he's a cowardly geologist? and then, after freaking out by the door, he's almost happily playing with the snake alien thing.
- THE FUCKING SCIENTISTS!!! they take off their masks and go and fucking touch everything! WHAT THE FUCK?! who in their right minds would ever fucking act like that on a fucking alien planet?!
- seriously, why is no one acting scared or at least cautious?
- how do the geologist and the biologist get lost when most of the cave is already mapped? and why would they choose to stay in the creepy room, of all places? and don't say it was because they were lost and hadn't seen what was beyond the door before, the fucking alien corpse was still there by the door.
- why would Mr. Weyland's motivations be contrary to the mission? everyone could get their answers.
- while i can maybe see the point in infecting Holloway and impregnating his girlfriend, it could all be done SAFELY back home (after making sure that alien shit won't kill y- oh wait), or at least they could've knocked her out as soon as they were sure she was pregnant.
- scottish scientist woman: what the fuck? she doesn't know anything about the mission and suddenly she's siding with the company like it's no big deal?
- why isn't anyone surprised at the alien hologram shit? and i loved it, "please tell me you can read that" and the robot says he probably can and then everyone promptly forgets about it and goes into the MYSTERIOUS ROOM WHERE AN ALIEN GOT HIS HEAD CUT OFF.
- why not let us know what David told the alien?

seriously, terrible movie. visually appealing, but that's about it.

i haven't seen and do not care to see any of the Alien movies, although i did read the plots on Wikipedia because i have way too much time on my hands.

The pod was male because I expect it was for the auld man, not Charlize. As for everything else, yeah, why the fuck would you behave like that? That said, I still loved the film.

To me the worst part was the kamikaze collision. The scene in which both copilots agree to do this was completely silly.

Though again, if they make a saga branching away from the original one, it can be pretty awesome I think.

Saw Friends with Kids last night, it was really fucking good. It somehow reminded me of films like Chasing Amy that are very dialogue-driven, it's rare for a romantic/drama/comedy whatever to have such intriguing dialogues.

fuck this "sequel baiting" shit. the movie gives away NOTHING, they sacrifice any kind of satisfaction they could give the viewer so you'll buy tickets to the next one. fuck that.

Act of Valor - 9/10

Brilliant, realistic movie with reals SEALS playing the characters. One of my favorite movies so far this year.

I watched 'Everything Must Go' w/Will Farrell the other night. It was one of the most depressingly boring films I've ever watched.

Meryl Streep is an outstanding actress. I haven't seen the movie, though.

Yep, unless it shows her as an evil she-demon gnawing at the bones of babies, it's LIES.

Watching 'Buried' with Ryan Reynolds. This is ridiculous. I can not believe that I wasted that 90 minutes of my life. What a HUGE POS!

Really? I thought it was pretty good actually. My expectations weren't exactly high but still, I enjoyed it a lot.

No, but it portrays her as struggling through the oh-so-tough decision of being "the harsh medicine" that Britain so "desperately" needed, when in reality it was a callous abuse of first Scotland, then the north of England, for the application of neoliberal corruption to benefit the upper classes of England.

I wasn't politically aware when Thatcher was PM but as I watched I couldn't help but feel that her policies are very reminiscent of the hard 'right' over here. Streep's performance was great but other than that I didn't have much use for the film.

I just found so much about the film implausible. The most obvious issue being he would have run out of oxygen. After the guy told him that he could only be buried a few feet in the ground b/c he still had a mobile phone signal, he should have used the knife to break the wood, get on his stomach, and push out with his back. I just found it all to be utter nonsense. A truly great film to see about being trapped is '127 Hours'. A much better film.

Actually, that about sums up my thoughts.

I took two things away from watching this film"

1. Meryl Streep is a damn talented actress.
2. Thatcher must have been incredibly ignorant, stubborn, and a borderline sociopath.
