I just saw the Boondock saints.. it was a piece of shit no plotline, nothing but a lot of incredible scenes with Willem Defoe.

I loved the Boondock Saints, it's ridiculous enough to work.

An Education - pretty great. Carey Mulligan is a real find, great actress.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - Pretty good. 1 > 3 and 4 > 2, if memory serves me right.

Winter's Bone - Quite good, but very overrated. Well-made and well-acted (Lawrence deserved her Oscar nomination), but slow as hell.

Twister - Crap. Awful special effects and a lot of yelling.
The Perfect Storm - Crap. Too much water and a lot of yelling.

I officially hate disastermovies.

the new Pirates of the Caribbean film: story is stupid, 3D as usual adds to the ticket price without actually adding to the film, that whole SPOILER mermaid/priest love story thing SPOILER was retarded, and penelope cruz didn't get anywhere near enough screen time.

penelope cruz

there, i just made the whole thread prettier.

Stranger Tides was awful. I have only seen the first one and was dragged to this one and basically everything that made the first good was sucked out for a thin as hell plot and weak character development.

Also Fletch and Lock, Stock. Both are so good. I don't know why but I find Fletch to be such a great movie for being so simple. Obv a stretch but so good.

Downfall

Saw it for the third or forth time and it's still a fantastic movie.

The 4th pirates movie, whatever it is called.

3d adds nothing to the movie except the ticket price. The movie is barely above average just like the last two. I would have never went to see it if I wasn't forced, yet still it managed to disappoint me.

5/10. Just for the scene with the Mermaids.

The scene with the mermaids wasn't even that great.

Snatch, The Departed and [REC], which had me captured. I paused midway once I realized my heart was kinda beating intensely. I still have to finish it. Once they got into the attic I was kinda less than enthralled since I was just waiting for the ending that's been leaked. I wonder how having to read subtitles affects the viewing, making it more or less scary which leads me to want to check out Quarantine.

Fascinating stuff from Ebert. Haven't even thought about this.
