You need to play Halo for more than 10 minutes to feel the difference. They are subtle, but they are there. Every gun has more punch to it, not to mention all the awesome new weapons. Maps are very pretty and rather large. But if you never liked Halo in the first place, well then you're just beating a dead horse. But this is, by far, the best Halo since Halo 2. Not a 9.8, but there isn't any game that deserves a 9.8.
I've played through 2, 3 and Reach, with co-op and online here and there, and have enjoyed it but not been like, that's amazing and I see why this has so many fans.

Haven't played one since 2 though. After that I've just always felt like there were better things to spend my money on. Can't stand playing an FPS on xbox anyway. I have a beast of a PC and I don't intend to let it idle...
Not everybody has a beast computer that can play "better" games on. I was there for Halo: Combat Evolved. It was revolutionary. At the time it was Goldeneye or nothing. Then Halo smacked us in the face (TimeSplitters was very cool too). I've bought every Halo game since and besides ODST, they've all been the same thing over and over again. Halo 4 may have the same mechanics, but the engine has been updated and everything just feels better.
Well, I've specifically saved money and spent it nice hardware for my PC because I appreciate PC gaming. It really has nothing to do with the games being "better" or even looking better. Even if I didn't have the hardware to fuel awesome graphics, I would still gravitate towards PC gaming because the keyboard/mouse set up is just so superior for first person games, which I play a lot of.
I still own a wii and an Xbox, and I have owned 2 or more consoles from each generation dating back to the NES and Master System (or, my family has, anyway). So I'm not against console gaming at all, and I see how a pad is better for certain game types. It's just that for pretty much all first person and third person action/rpg games, which make up 95% of my gaming schedule, PC control set up is way more satisfying.
