I'm lonely and I suck at talking to attractive girls. She did stroke my shirt three times cause it was soft though. After the third one we had a cute/awkward "you went too far!" smile at each other. I still have no idea if she likes me. mlia

I can see why you're failing.

I'm no fuckin' pimp myself, but even I know you have to have self confidence and act like any girl in the room can be yours. Attractive girls are just like any other girl, man. Most chicks are generally uber insecure no matter how hot they are and think all sorts of ridiculous shit about themselves. If they're giving you attention, the looks ( You should know what I mean ) and keep talking to you, then you're good to go.

Don't hold back and be a pussy and regret it. The worst thing you're going to get is a no, bro.

And you know what, if that girl says no, she probably has some hot friends.

Guys like that get laughed at here. I'd like to ask her to do something other than chill at school and I do realize her saying no is the only bad thing that could happen but the opportunity has not really come up.

The rest makes sense but right now I just wake up every morning wishing I had someone to hug and then spend a sillyly big chunk of the day thinking similar thoughts. Venting on MR has helped a tiny bit more than anything else I've tried so far, I think.

Really because I'm busy laughing at you right now. :P

I'm not saying act like some Jersey Shore reject or something, but be confident in who you are and don't be afraid to talk to a girl and start a conversation, or ask her to chill sometime.

I dunno, but I feel the same way. There is an Akimbo album called Jersey Shores that is both awesome and about shark attacks. A lot of what they write is about sharks.

Also there is an important difference between acting like every girl in the room wants to sleep with me and being honest/self-confident. If I'm being honest, only 2/3rds of the girls in an average room want to sleep with me.

Also also people seem to laugh at me whenever I'm sincere. It happens in real life too. I'm not sure if that's a good thing but I hope they at least realize I am being intentionally somewhat ridiculous!

Personally Noodles, I think that before you even THINK of getting a girlfriend, you should first try to establish a solid general friendship circle (if you don't already have one). Join some clubs/groups at your school (volunteer clubs, major-specific clubs, etc.), come to their events, and mingle with different people. Girls usually don't like "lonely" guys. And I think doing this will help you build your confidence and also give you the chance to have some fun.

Also. Get hobbies. i'm sure you do, noodles. But I can't stand meeting guys and we're chatting about various things, and I ask so what do you do for fun etc. And they're like well.. you know, TV.. Music.. hanging with friends.. Those aren't hobbies. I like guys that are passionate about things they enjoy.

I have hobbies and friends (except I tend to see friends about 1/10th as much during the summer which may be part of the cause of the aforementioned feelings of loneliness) but that question is the worst imo. They should teach you how to answer it in high school because in my experience everyone else sucks too. Last time someone asked me, I said that I'd recently discovered a love for LIFTING THINGS while I was helping my friend move. Usually I say I like guitars and tennis and books or something like that.

I like hanging out, playing Nintendo. Chicks dig it.

Actually, surprisingly my nerdiness plays rather well.

So are you like one of those chicks that has to have a guy that enjoys shooting hoops and fixing cars or can we count first person shooters and knowing how to put a power suplly into a computer as a legit way to spend time? :P

And on the flip side, I'm generally not concerned about a girls hobbies... They're generally always radically different from my own. At least the ones I'm around. I'm more concerned with their personalities and I PREFER a reasonably intelligent girl I can actually talk to. Those seem to be so few and far between, though.

You're wrong, girls don't have hobbies. Girls don't actually really do anything. Seriously. That's why alot of girls are super personality-less. They can't do anything on their own.

I'm not the kind of girl who's all about men who like cars etc etc. But i'd like to be able to do my own thing, and not have to worry that my boyfriend is all bored and shit, he has things he likes, and I have things I like.

I super dig guys who are into RPG's (..like video games) hahaha

It is a very difficult question to answer, noodles. Seinfeld is right about not appearing lonely; I (perhaps naively) think that since you are a gentleman, have varied interests, and can take a joke, that you will get far by just being yourself.

The advice is this thread generally seems spot on, and so I'd listen to it.

Hay baby. ;]

Also, for those wondering what Jersey Shore is, think along these lines:
