Give me time my good man. I haven't been able to put Sleeping Dogs long enough to dive in NHL 13 enough yet. I did start a gm mode, just got past Christmas. Trading is harder, as in more realistic. The trading block is way more in depth. But either then the actual game play changes, GM mode is not much different. Some menus are layed out differently, but it's all pretty much the same. I will eventually try GM connected and see what that's all about.

But in the interim, Sleeping Dogs!

Okay :) Still waiting for my copy...

In other news and for the Borderlands 2 enthusiasts, I'm told the game is excellent, except for a few glitches (which can always be fixed) and the (still) horrible vehicle driving part. Have fun!

edit: I've received my copy of '13. It's been a honor guys, farewell.

What's the first Borderlands like? Was turned off it originally (can't remember why) but thinking of trying it after liking the sound of the new one...

Do it. Do it now. If you like levelling up and collecting ever sweeter loot, just do it right now. No more questions!

Hate to be that guy again, but Borderlands really isn't that great any longer. It might have been good when it first came out, but even coop mode is kind of stale now. The problem with the game is that it becomes increasingly repetitive to the point that you never want to look at the game again, the fact that anyone would want to play the sequel, which looks like the exact same game, is beyond me.

And I don't, but I have no other way to catch up with a couple friends that moved across country other than to play Borderlands with them.

So I am stuck shelling out the money for it, oh well. I'll only play it for coop.

It's strange that there aren't more games with coop these days. Considering how easy it is to find players and connect to each other, and most of all, how FUN coop is, there should be coop in basically all games.

My favourite coop game is Terraria, played that shit to death at a 5-day Lan. Some of the best times I've ever had in gaming.

Played a couple of hours (got past Christmas as well, 17-15-1 IIRC, struggling, cool). Trading is much better, the revamped trading block is great. It's great to be forced to make realistic trades, and to take into account the other GM's block to have a chance to make a decent deal. I love it.
The skating feels so weird... but is much more realistic, so it just needs a bit of getting used to. As for goalies, I haven't noticed much difference, they're a bit more nimble and have quicker reactions perhaps yes.
I'm only playing Pro difficulty for now, tried All-star but that was tedious. Haven't touched the sliders yet.

In sum: :dio:

To Dev: don't bother starting a Be a Pro game yet if you ever planned on doing so. It's awfully glitched (you lose a shitload of XP during each summer, and the coach of your NHL team won't let you in the roster even though he tells you are "GUARANTEED" to be in.) I checked on the internet, I'm not alone with this problem. So it's either a glitch or the worst game feature ever.

I'll stick with Be a GM for the time being.

Haven't played that many games this last week. Tropico 4, on and off, and a bit of Rome: Total War.

Borderlands 2 looks fun, but 1) I haven't got a gaming group willing to shell out for it and 2) me neither. I got bored of the first one fairly quickly for the first reason, I'm glad I picked it up for ten euro back then. I'll probably wait until the price is chopped, knowing the publisher it'll happen at these Christmas sales already.

I have no plans on starting Be A Pro anytime soon but my roommate has been playing mostly just that and has had no problems yet. I'll stay away until a patch or something is released. Although I only ever tried the mode back on NHL 09 when it was brand new.

My copy of Borderlands 2 should come in the mail today and should hopefully be waiting for me when I get home tonight. Too bad I'm currently playing 5 other games.

Did your roommie start in the CHL? Or the NHL, directly? I suspect the latter works just fine.

Borderlands 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2. Never played a MGS game before but so far I'm digging it, gameplay is very organic when compared to most modern games.

Also, anyone on the fence about Borderlands 2 should give it a go. I agree that the original feels incredibly dated now thanks to a poor inventory system and barren, repetitive environments, but the sequel completely mends those issues. Also the world feels much more lively and populated now due to a huge increase in fully-animated, fully-voiced NPCs. And somehow, loot drops have actually INCREASED in frequency. I find a weapon superior to my current ones every five to ten minutes. It's the same game, sure, but literally everything has been improved.

+1 for MGS2. Once you get farther in the game, it's gonna get really weird.

MGS are some of the best games ever made. I also urge everyone to buy Dark Souls, it is in my opinion the best game in at least the past 5 years. I have been playing it since it was released and I still haven't finished it since I'm taking my sweet time with it, and I'm planning to play new game+ and so forth. Just a couple of months ago I thought the future of gaming looked really bleak (thanks to Diablo 3 and other shitty "games") but I now have hope.

I agree, Dark Souls is easily my favorite game of the past two or three years. I got about 35 hours into it and then stopped playing it because I was getting incredibly frustrated at a certain black knight (I think that's what they're called), but I need to pick it back up again and power through it. Also there's a really neat Dark Souls easter egg in Borderlands 2.
