Strange decision. The game isn't really that hard when you understand what you're doing wrong, but there is some trial and error. Nevertheless, I don't feel like an easy mode would be very fun at all.

Of course it wouldn't. It's just to increase the sales.

What is it about the game that makes it so difficult? I have heard that from alot of people, havent played it personally. Just curious.

Well, if you die, you drop all your souls, souls are currency and experience at the same time, so it sucks to lose them. Anyway, they can be picked up again so it's not that big of a deal, but if you die before you pick them up they are lost forever. At the start of the game you die quite often because enemies hit HARD, you die from 2-4 hits usually and if you just spam the attack button you run out of stamina and when you run out of stamina you can't block or attack. This is basically what kills most noobs, you need to have a lot of patience and know when to let your guard down and go for the kill. Enemies also block your attacks, so if you hit them while they have their guard up, you are vulnerable and vice versa.

There are other things that makes the game difficult. For instance, the game world just feels uninviting, there's very little information and no quest logs or anything. There are no towns or safe havens, expect the bonfires which work like check points. Possibly the most frustrating thing about the game is the fact that whenever you use a bonfire to heal, level up, stock up on estus flasks(healing item) every enemy you have killed will respawn. So if you die at a boss, you need to grind all the way back to the boss.

Wow, fucking hell.
I still hesitate to buy it (now I mean, I'll buy it eventually). I'm afraid to throw away 30+ euros for a game I won't have the patience to beat.

Yet another game I'll be picking up at the Christmas sales then. God bless Steam and Gabe Newell's rosy bottom.

Currently having a blast with Tropico 4. Picked it up for €7,50, rather hesitantly as I'd never played any of the previous games in the series, and I was pleasantly surprised. I so enjoy pissing off the commie faction in the game, too

Bought a playstation 3! (Bless Cashconverters, 210 for that and an HD tv), going to pick up Skyrim this morning, and need to think about what else should be an immediate buy. Is Dark Souls out for PS3?

It was originally released for PS3, so yes :)

Same here, good little game. Got it during the Steam summer sales too.

Got Sleeping Dogs. Paid off NHL 13, pick it up Tuesday and put some money on Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Invested about 3 hours into Sleeping Dogs last night and I am digging it so far. The driving and hand-to-hand combat takes some getting use to, but is pretty straight forward once you get it. It's like a not as responsive version of the Batman Arkham games. People who have a GTA V void in their collection could do muh worse than Sleeping Dogs. The "RPG" elements may be tame but are pretty cool and add a little something extra to the game.

Thanks Dev, I'll definitely grab it sometime before GTA V.

It's Sept 11, NHL 13 is out (well, it is where YOU live...), be sure to make me drool a gallon or three sometime this week. I won't get it before a week. Still need to prepare my kick-ass mix, now I think of it...

And the story is pretty cool too.

Oh, yeah. NHL 13!! Got it this morning, just waiting to get home so I can get rid of this boner and dive into some GM mode. Be in touch next month.

Fuck I gotta play it somehow. Especially since it will probably be a while before we see some actual NHL hockey.

I wonder if anyone of my non hockey interested friends will let me borrow their console if I pay for the game :P

That's the spirit. I'm myself going to alternate between a Habs GM game and a nasty power forward motherfucker in Be-a-Pro. Either that or a playmaker. Nah, a power forward.

I'm thinking of a new set of rules for my GM game. The way I used to play was too gamey. No trading 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks, except for even better picks. Mandatory to keep a newly signed player for at least 2 seasons.
3 games per month are played during the regular season (the rest is simmed), playoffs are played entirely (nothing is simmed). Difficulty level is the second-hardest one (All-star?). If (when) I get fired, it's game over. And I'll try tweaking the goalie sliders like you said the other day.

I find it very hard to invest myself into another team after I get fired. Spend 3 years building the Leafs only to get fired and take a job with Colorado or some shit.

As for my rule on playing, I just let it happen. If there's a guy I want to sign, I sign him. If I then need to trade somebody to open a spot or two, I trade them. I usually trade picks for prospects, doesn't take as long for them to develop. But I also enjoy drafting a player and then developing them into NHL talent. But yeah, to make a long story short, I just go with the flow. If I get fired I try to make my new team work, but usually start over.

Go Leafs Go!

2013 Stanley Cup Champions!

And no, I haven't played yet. Just got home. Although my roommate just won the Memorial Cup in Be a Pro.

Like many sports games nowadays: nope. Top Spin 4, NHLs, Maddens are not, FIFAs are but often are not as good as their console counterpart. Same thing with Pro Evo Soccer.
Olympic games (Beijing, London...) also are but these shouldn't even exist anyway.

Playing FLT - Faster Than Light.

Old school spaceship adventure game. Great fun if you're into those types of retro games. Cheap too, 9 dollars. It's merciless, just when you think you're starting to become good a cruiser will fuck your ship up and you gotta start over.
