But there's so many new gameplay mechanics. Sure you only get a 5 minute period, but the new goalies, new skating engine, new hits, it's all gonna be there. You honestly never play just a regular game?

Oh well, I'm getting the demo and the game both on their respective days 1s.

Don't get me wrong, I can wait to see all that! I just don't wanna be limited. The new goalie features seem promising, I'm going to seriously need to change my lame "scoring off the rush" usual strategy. Cool. :dio: Seriously, be sure to tell me what you think about the new features!

And to answer your question, no, in all honesty. In NHLs, FIFAs, Top Spins, NBA2Ks, etc., I only play tournament/season/career modes. Don't really know why. Well actually I do know, Be-a-Pro is basically a RPG hockey game, and Be-a-GM a strategy/management/sports game, which are two killer combos to me.

Okay, maybe I'll try the demo, you win. :D

When the game comes out we should definitely have a game over Xbox live. I'll take it easy. I played thomas once, it was a close game.

I haven't forgot, definitely. When October/November comes, I'll grab a month of Live.

Having fun with my new character in Skyrim. She's a stealth assassin (archer/dagger), no magic at all. Shooting everyone from afar and cutting throats from behind is a lot a fun. I remember having struggled for some fights with my previous character (warrior, sword & destruction magic), they're much easier with this one (because avoiding melee combat is almost always an option, thankfully). Her sneak skill is at 97 right now, that helps quite a bit, haha.
I haven't bought the Dawnguard DLC though, I won't bother unless the second one is great and they sell it in a cheap pack in a year or two.

Next in line: Deus Ex: Human Revolution (at last).

Just finished Skyrim's main quest. Hardly worth the effort, as usual with Bethesda games.

Can't even remember what it was like, apart from the ending and Paarthurnax and stuff. I'm going to hold off on playing it till I can pick up Dawnguard cheap at the christmas sales.

@Karma: I'd hold off until they release a couple of other DLC. That's what I'm going to do, at least. The final boss was a huge disappointment, but it's still better than in Oblivion. At least you get to *fight*.

@Dev: So... it seems EA wasn't lying after all, NHL 13 really looks like being a major leap forward in the series, from what I can read here and there. Cool :dio:

Started playing Skyrim from where I stopped a few months ago. It's fun at times, but I can't stop thinking about it's flaws. The worst one being the "fighting". It seems to me that every single battle is like this... you attack your enemy until you're almost out of HP, you then heal up and start attacking once again, you repeat this until you win or you die. It doesn't feel like you're actually playing a game, it's more like an interactive movie. The battles are just there so you can pretend like you're part of it. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm using a warhammer. Anyone feel the same way? What weapons do you guys think are the most fun?

Edge: fair point, but to be even fairer combat always has been a flaw of the The Elder Scrolls series. Let's just say melee combat isn't the point of the game. Recently have I played a stealth archer assassin (dagger as second weapon), and had *a lot* more fun than with my previous character (a warrior). 99% of my fights avoid melee, after a certain level and after certain perks have been picked, you can kill people without even having been noticed by anyone. Either by one-shooting from afar with a well-placed arrow ("in the knee", to add to the fun), or by silently backstabbing. A whole different approach to the game, really.

The best part is, with your insane sneak stats, you often don't even *have* to kill people. You can just sneak around unnoticed.

The trees I developed : Archery and Sneak of course, and the opener for One-handed (the other perks in that tree are useless to an assassin). Oh and a bit of Light Armor as well. Some perks are really overpowered, but so much fun. The perk that gives you a x15 damage bonus to your backstabs for instance. Combined with the gloves the Dark Brotherhood gives you at some point (x2 to your backstabs), that's a x30 bonus..! And suddenly your small dagger becomes the deadliest weapon in the game... :D

@DevWally: a lot of people are saying the skating is unrealistic now (NHL 13 demo), your thoughts? I can't try the demo, it's available to Gold members only for now.

That looks amazing. Did you ever play GTA IV? Never had the chance. What's your opinion?

On the PC, yes, with both expansion packs (they add a lot IMO). Well, I liked it a lot. Less than San Andreas (one of the best games ever made to me) which had immense gameplay possibilities IV simply don't have, but still, IV is very good. The game is definitely more... serious and less varied than previous GTAs (it's mostly gunfights), but again, it's a very good game. The "Gay Tony" expansion pack is priceless and brings a bit of the fun and frivolity the main game lacks.

The game is extremely badly optimized for the PC though, and the console versions weren't exempt of flaws. Perhaps they were fixed, I don't know.

edit: and regarding V, the screenshots aren't impressive (they're not that beautiful at all), but they all suggest that the gameplay will be closer to SA than IV. Which is awesome if that's the case.

Agreed on SA, one of the best games ever. Had a lot of fun back in the day killing cholos and niggers.

Zad already asked you not to use that word, ffs
I focused on cops myself. I once managed to stay alive 20 minutes with 6 stars pinned on my front. I felt like a fucking war hero.

I know, but africanamerican is too long. Besides N***** describes them pretty well. N=black skinned people. I understand the cultural issues, but it still seems dumb to me being offended by that word. It's like I was offended because I was called mestizo...

Tell us what you think about Sleeping Dogs when you're far enough in the game. :dio: I'm told it's good, though unoriginal and technically limited.

Ok I played it long enough to tell you it's a good game but nothing original or ground breaking. It's your typical sandbox game so if you enjoyed the GTA and Saints Row series and don't care about originality than you'll like it. Oh and you can go marital arts on the locals

And prepare to learn how to drive on the left side of the street or if you're like me you don't care what side to drive on

@MetalStorm: thanks for the input, sounds solid. I read yesterday that the PC version was polished, that it's a true PC version. I'll get it in a couple of months when the wait for GTA V becomes "unbearable", haha.

@Dev: you really don't wanna answer my question do you? HOW'S THE DEMO, DUDE. I can't try it, it's Xbox Live Gold members only. I read some people find the skating weird. Is it?

Read a bit more about Dark Souls and according to some random guys on the Internet, the game will be ported without any changes. Apparently there have been some lag issues on the PS3 version, which means these issues will carry over to the PC version. Hopefully the might of the PC will make the game lag a little less, but I'm pretty sure it wont. Also the game might be terrible with mouse+keyboard, but that's expected I guess.
