Happy day of womb exiting!

I feel ambivalent - on one hand I'm refreshed by a nice day of volunteer work and excited by the prospect of some awesome new animal ownership and registration laws. On the other hand I'm sad as half a dozen cats went to kitty Valhalla today due to the shelter being overcrowded. Overall I'm exhausted - today is my last day of work for the week - that's my fund raising work, my "needs this for moneh" work and my volunteering. I have one day off and then the madness starts again, until uni holidays are over.

Sushi IS awesomes, although I find it hard to find good vegetarian sushi sometimes. Once I found some crap veggie sushi with capsicum in it, and there were no other vegetarian options but fries - fuck that sucked.

Does anyone else's body reject seaweed-filled sushi like mine does? I start gagging and nearly vomit as soon as I take a bite of seaweed and cucumber sushi, which is very popular here.

PS. Looking at Azrael's avatar puts me into a strange state of tranquility.

YES! Almost every type of Veggie Sushi you get here has seaweed, and I can't stand it.

I went to the dentist today
It was to me a very sad day
Departing with $490 was painful
But not as bad as when the novocain rebelled
And got in my tongue
And not my gum
AND HE DRILLED INTO MY FUCKING NERVE ENDING!

So did I. I was going to get one removed but he said I had to use some antibiotics for a week. Shit. I don't think I'll ever have the courage to go back.

shit! i've been to the dentist a bunch of times (i've broken my front tooth 3 times :P), but nothing like that ever happened.

as for seaweed, i've never met anyone with that problem. but do you mean fillied with seaweed or just wrapped in it? if it's wrapped you can just take it out, i used to do it when i didn't like it.

Thank you kind sirs- today has indeed been a joyful commemoration of my time in the uterus and my eventual exodus.

Indeedy. I really don't know what it is, but the whole album just seems so perfect. I've listened to it far more than I intended to. I'll probably have to listen to it a few more times before I pass final judgement on it.

Filled with seaweed. I've had one once and it went down fine, but the subsequent rolls made me gag horribly. I quite like the nori on the outside of sushi, and it has the bonus of having a fuckload of iron in it.

Re:dentists
From the age of 2.5 up to the age of 13 I was a regular at the dentists'. I had a root canal and a tooth reconstruction and so much shit done it's not funny. My favourite memory is walking down to the other end of the dental hospital with my mouth wide open and 4 needles stuck in my tooth for an ultrasound. A couple of years back my face exploded with pain, and it turns out that the infection I had when I got my root canal is still in my face, and not much can be done about getting it out. Cold + stess = pain.

I remember from about when I was 11 to when I was 13-14 I would hide the "Time for a trip to the dentist" notes that my dentist would send our family so I wouldn't have to go (I had some bad experience with getting a cavity filled and throwing up from various dental things so I was in terror of going there). I also didn't brush my teeth more often than once every three or four days. So when I finally did take a trip to the dentist I had a big, big hole that needed a root canal and about 4 other cavities.

I guess the upside of that was that dental work seems pretty minor now in comparison, even having 4 teeth pulled before I got my braces in.
