my friend asked me to ask any americans here this question, it's kinda important so that's why i post it on two threads:

What's the best place for beach, sun and sea? California (San Diego and San Francisco) or Florida (Fort Lauderdale)?

he's seriously considering going to the USA to study, some multimedia design thingy. he's undecided between the Academy of Art University (San Fran) and the Art Institute (Ft. Lauderdale and San Diego). and btw, do these unis have a good reputation?

he told me the Art Institute didn't even ask for the TOEFL because they think his e-mails show he's comfortable with english (yet anyone could have written them) and that all they want is an essay. dunno, makes me think of one of those pseudo-universities like we have here in portugal. i don't want him to waste 4 years and loads of money seeking a bogus degree.

I live somewhere close to Ft. Lauderdale, so I could find out about the Art Institute there sometime soon.

And if you want to know about the weather in Florida, then during the fall/winter, it's absolutely fantastic. It's absolutely fantastic now. The weather's beautiful around this time, but during the summer, it's too hot/muggy and there are a lot of thunderstorms, but the winters are really nice here.

I'll see if I can find out about the school there.

I feel kind of gay since I put nail polish and eyeliner on last night and it was really fun and had this strange appeal to it.

I feel like I'm going to burst a fucking gut with frustration. I had a really good weekend but just 10 minutes into my fucking shitty job and I could feel my stomach starting to churn with how pissed off I was at the crapness of the job and my stupid fucking probable-complexes that sometimes make it hard for me to talk to people like some emo faggot instead of the tr00 man that I am. God I need some direction in my stupid life.

At least I'm going to see Lordi and Turisas tonight, that should cheer even the most annoying self-pitier up.

I finally won a bass and amp package on ebay for under $300 .

Aside from that I have achieved cunt status. At about 1am this morning I was in the kitchen getting a drink and I saw my wife's mobile (cell) phone sitting there. So for some reason I decided to have a look at the text messages she has been sending (yes, I know: cuntish). Anyway I see one that reads, "Hey Matt (I'm not Matt), [my name] is having a long day at uni and then going straight to work. What are you doing tonight?"

WTF! So I barge into the bedroom where she is asleep and in no kind words I demand an explaination. She says to scroll down and look at the date, which was back in August. This was at the time that the new Iron Maiden came out and we were holding a spare copy for my friend Matt. I asked her to text him and tell him that I couldn't bring it over, and if were possible for him to come over my place and get it.

Now the temperature in my house has dropped by several degrees. I wrote her a long apology letter, but she hasn't spoken to me yet.

But enough about you, let's talk about me. Me and my gf broke up. Again. But my friend is returning from booze planet Estonia tonight and bringing me a litre of whiskey, so i'll be celebrating my new bachelor status tonight. Which is nice.

I had the Mexican Screamers all night at work and spent most of the time on the bog. To alleviate this problem I stole a packet of Metamucil. Now I have an ethical dillema;

Is stealing the Metamucil justified or not? From an ego-centric perspective I don't think it is, as my own personal wants should not run against the established system. Yet my anus was on fire. And an employer has a duty of care towards its employees. Thus the provision of the Metamucil for my consumption is the employer's responsibility in order to prevent further damage to my burning anus.

From a utilitarian perspective (the greatest good for the greatest number) I was right in taking the Metamucil. This is because A) my "leavings" were creating a horrible miasma in the gents, which is detrimental to all who have to use it - and B) I have people coming over tomorrow and such a miasma in my home would deprive me of the advantage of anoniminity. Thus, my theft is justified on social grounds.

Yet from a consequentialist view, there is the problem of being discovered. This could have far-reaching negative effects if it occured. Therefore, as the theft has taken place and the purpose satisfied, I must take steps to distance myself from the missing product. By definition this makes my theft unjustified, as I am clearly aware that I have done something wrong. So my aim now is to create an illusion of no wrong having occured in the first place - using subterfuge. To do this I must simply return the Metamucil and its remaining contents to the store. This negates the problem of theft and qualifies the action as a borrowing.

You see how a runny bottom can create deep philosophical inquiries.

Quite good. Finally found a store who had books of R. A. Salvatore in stock. Got 2 Dark Elf books for 5€, awesomes!!!11!! Tomorrow morning my first football match after my red card. And after that, i'm taking my gf to meet the parents.

Today I was in Crewe with my friends and two of us go into this bookshop (he wanted some shitty autobiography or summat) and we see these two nerd looking at 'graphic novels' we go over there and I say "isn't there any anime porn here?" the first geek replies "hentai? No, there's no hardcore stuff in here." Me "I'm looking for some hentai with men and animals in it." *geek laughs* "Nah, you can't get that shit in here." me *picks up WoW comic "At home i have 2 computers and I play WoW on one screen and have hentai on the other whilst I wank." geek "That's well cool. I have loads of hentai at my house, it's good shit" me "I was only joking you fucking wierdos, you wank over cartoon rape! hahahaha" *points and laughs whilst my friend does the same* the geeks looked really ashamed and shit.

That's the first time I've ever met REAL geeks like off the movies. Awesome.

Everyone (or at least a lot of people) I know is really depressed because of winter and I'm really happy... except living with a non-family member might make me go crazy pretty soon.

I feel so out of place.
