Bah, Firefly sucked. Too much western, too little scifi.. Maybe a little cyberpunkish edge would have made it better?

Nah I do'nt think it would have fit very well but I would like to see a new Sci-Fi show with some Cyberpunkish elemnts. What I would REALLY like to see is a show or good movie with Space Marines. I do'nt think we have had one of those fpr some time.

Firefly is fucking amazing, and my favourite TV show of all time. It's the only show of its genre to have good character development. Shotguns are so much more badass than phasers. Serenity was awesome too. Browncoat for life!

holy crap, I agree with Carnifex. G'Kar: best character ever to appear on a TV screen.

Funny, looks familiar even though I don't think I've seen B5.

B5 blows Firefly out of the water, no question. J. Michael Straczynski > Joss Whedon. Whedon, for instance, can't write a show without a crazy person, and only one type of crazy person. Buffy, Angel and Firefly all have a loopy chick who says random, quasi-mystical half-phrases and has a violent streak. It gets old eventually, Joss.

I hope your right man, I think we have patient enough to get a decent Space Marine movie. If this one sucks I say we make our own damn movie

I'm a huge, HUGE scifi fan!!! (and horror!)

I watch basically every scifi or horror film or series that airs on TV!! Which is also the reasons why I've "missed" so many (classic) scifi shows coz they don't tend to air those here in Finland  coz if it ain't mainstream then... grrr! The bastards even cut down Stargate FOREVER (as it seems) after the 6th season (methinks)!! Shit, that was even mainstream scifi and probably most watched at that, but nooo... f*ck it they thought!!1

My favs: Firefly, Farscape, V, Odyssey 5, Stargate, John Doe, X-Files, The Prisoner...

They just started airing the nu- Battlestar Galactica which I intend to watch! :) ...Too bad I got bored of the original after couple of eps some years back when they actually aired it, ugh :( I wished I'd watched it then

Also, Stargate SG1 is great IMO, if it counts.

Eh, why wouldn't it?? It's as scifi as any other.

Bah! That reminds me of what I thought when I first saw glimpses of Firefly. But that western thing, that repelled me at first, only applies to the first or so ep that aired. And it's not even descriptive of the show. Mostly it reminded me of Farscape in the basic setting.

Bah! I used to watch quite a lot of this when it aired. Sometimes I got tired of it and missed many episodes then came back... It was good, no question about it, but I don't remember it evoking anything in me whilst watching it, unlike Farscape for instance... But it's been years since, thus I haven't included it on my fav list :|

Oh, I hadn't noticed that thing about Whedon... guess I was too busy enjoying the shows  Actually, I would have rather not known about that :( ...But the shows still kick ASS so who gives a f*ck!!

Another show I only saw once but was kind of intrigued by was Gormenghast. Has anybody seen enough of them to form an opinion?

Firefly has to be my favorite, it reminded me so much of Cowboy Bebop(anime) in many ways. They both have the western style and both have great character developement. The main intirgue is quite strong and it's just too bad it stopped after only 14 episodes, It had solid material to work with and the show had lots of potential to explore.

If you guys mean by sience fiction anything that touches it and not only space related shows than Smallville is my favorite show still airing on tv in that category.

Babylon 5
Stargate SG1
Firefly
The X-files

I haven't seen enough of the other series to form a good opinion but of course Farscape and Star Trek seem interesting. Stargate Atlantis might be good as well. I heard they were making something new of Battlestar Galactica, was it new episodes or a movie? I don't currently own a tv so it's kinda hard to catch up with these things.

It's a remake of the original series.

The remake of BSG is totally different from the original. Characters are different and of course the SFX are mindblowing. It's definately my favourite series at the moment.

My favourite series of all time is Star Trek Voyager.

Currently watching the second series of SG1 and it rocks. Have all the SG1 series on DVD and plan to watch them soon!
