You can ask whatever you like dude, now that we're sure you're not with the Skynet bastards.

No. This is awesome. Have you ever been so broke that you collected cigarette butts in order to accumulate tobacco to begin rolling your own cigarettes?

Got into a fight with this wigger douchebag at a in a Carnifex pit at a small bar in Scottsdale and was getting the best of his pasty ass until his friends came in and ganged up on me. I got punched in the back of the head and thrown into the Salt the Wound merch set, the guys in the band kept me from going back and getting messed up even more.

After the show the little queer was with his friends outside acting all tough in a group, needless to say I really wanted to finish it. Too bad he had his anal buddies around him

How recently was this? I've had some bad experiences in the pit, but luckily nothing ever came to fruition. The worst pit experience I had was at a Keep, Behemoth, and Dimmu concert. This fat guy got crazy drunk and kept just barreling into the crowd from within the mosh pit. To my distress, the pit just so happened to open up to the point at which I was standing. Eventually, the guy came barreling at me so I grabbed the side of his head and shoved him down to my right and he just hit the ground rolling. Luckily, his Marine friends were laughing their asses off and pointing at him or I would've been fucked.

Was like three years ago, I forgot to add that the guy also attacked one of the bouncers  needless to say he got ejected. Another time I was at a small local hardcore show and this ugly Mexican guy with a lip piercing was crowdkilling, and He kicked me in the ribs. He made a second shot and there were ladies behind me, so I grabbed him and threw him stumbling into another dude. It never escalated past him getting in my face, The guys broke up the fight and once again his friends this fat scene kid with the cutoff shorts and ADTR shirt along with this bull dike Californian broad wanted to get involved.

I just calmly said nah and they didn't bother me after that. A few of the gals thanked me for what I did, but Id like to think most fellas at least when the band doesn't suck would stop nonsensical crowdkilling at a relatively calm show. Smashing someone for Xibalba or TUI is alright though

Crowdkilling is always fucking stupid. And bullshit hardcore shit ruined my chance to see TUI. I totally need to review them.

I had to beat three or four people's asses growing up. I've probably gotten into a dozen or more altercations, but all that was a long time ago. I was always the shortest guy around. Too bad I was naturally build and was lifting more weights than the football team by the time I was 15. I was skinny and short when I was kid and would still end up fighting because I didn't like to take any shit. I wouldn't even think of getting physical now. I wouldn't dare start a fight, but I won't back down from one either or sweet talk my way out of it. I think the last time I had a fight was with the couple roommates I had about 5 years ago. They earned an asswhipping after making a girl we had over feel bad and slutty. So, that couldn't be allowed to stand.

Surprised to hear about all the ill will that seems to be around shows in North America.

Here in Melbourne everyone at extreme metal shows acts pretty reasonably, and they're actually usually really nice to each other. I would even say there's a sort of camaraderie, like the people there know that even though the general public might give them shit for the music they like, they're now in a place where everyone likes the same shit.

I mean, there's still a bit of roughness in the pit, but it's all friendly violent fun. There's still lots of drinking and every once in a while someone may go overboard and act like a douche but it's definitely the exception rather than the rule.

in my experiance its the same here in north america. there is definately a brotherhood feeling (i cant spell comraderie so i said brotherhood  ) there is always a drunk idiot who is trying to show how metal he is by being a jerkoff but for the most part i go to shows alone and always end up meeting really cool people. people are always friendly. i think these guys are speaking about there bad experiances. ive had my share of bad experiances as well but for the most part 9 times out of 10 ive never had a problem. im sure the same goes for most of these folks as well.

I agree, Snake. I've always met tremendously nice people at congregations I've been to. The majority of people in the Metal community tend to be very nice people. I rarely go to shows any more but it's always great to see genuinely decent folks at such events.

yup. its a really cool feeling when you go to a show alone and people just kind of see your alone understand and pull you in to their group. its one of those thing that cant be put into words. its just... well its why i still go to shows.

btw none of the people i know really listen to metal so instead of take someone who is looking at their watch and asking stupid questions i choose to go to shows alone.

Very, very smart move. Better for them, and much better for you.

Right on. I don't mind it. Metal shows I always went to by myself because my friend was too cool for shows. What everybody is describing in terms of camaraderie, I found a lot at punk shows. I got pulled into a circle of friends there where metal folks always seemed stand offish.

Same for me. As a matter of fact, I have never been to a metal show with friends.

My friends always come with me to rock shows (deep purple, guns n roses, ac/dc, marilyn manson, the mars volta, etc) coz they're into that stuff, but I don't have a single real-world aquaintance who's into metal. So I've always gone alone, and its actually kind of cool. Friends for rock shows, strangers for metal shows. That's just the way it's always been for me.
