Just making an MR-centric post here for once, but it's a bit of a shame to come back here time and again and see how people's personalities change. The people from here that I'd like to meet up with offline one day for a beer have changed from a couple of years ago - fine, it'd be quicker to make a list of the people I'd point-blank refuse to meet. I'd love to call a MetalReviewsCon and have a paella-cooking contest with Ganesha whilst DevotedWalnut blasts the rare Thrash, Rio and Dead Machine talk politics in the background and Dago and Crast pick the beers and Karmakosmonaut distracts any passing females with his bare chest, it'd be a blast! Yet some of you just fill me with complete and utter... nothingness. A lot of the Americans now seem interchangable, especially some of the newer, younger ones, who I have trouble telling apart, yet the likes of Raven and Adam and Seinfeld are goddamn gentlemen and I would be happy to buy them a drink where elsewhere I'd wait for another to take the first round.
I'm genuinely interested to meet some of you. I think Valefor/banshee would be great to hang out with, for instance, and whilst obv. I'm more likely to meet some of the Brits than anyone else, I'd still love to go and hang out in some bogan bar with embraced and followthereaper, or have lunch in a bookstore with Brahm and that violent little serbian nutter who used to post here, and then we could intervene when a gang of skinheads try to steal Brahm's shit. Looking through Stefan's records and laughing at his Johnny Halliday obsession, running from hordes of mad Welsh bastards with Mintrude, ditto ditto Scotch ditto ditto Radagast, it'd all be great. What a fine bunch of human beings we are. I salute you all, and if I haven't mentioned you don't be cross 'cause it just means we need to talk more.
Except AngelRipper16. Nah, just kidding.
From the first moment I saw what this thread was about... I just knew it had to come.
