Two great guest spots this week on shows, neither doing what you'd expect them to do and both contributing to a very different sort of comedy. Ricky Gervais on Curb, and Doug Stanhope on Louie, here's to you.

That Doug Stanhope episode sounds intense from what I've read about it. It could not be. Need to start watching season 2.

DS really is a revelation. Dude can act! Unless he's acting himself, which I doubt - fires off all sorts of questions. This season of Louie has been terrific.

Louie was always kinda good but never clicked. I'm excited to see if it has.

Two episodes into this, myself, pretty good so far. Good actors, good plot, good background...

Blasted through most of Louie Season 2 and it's way better than the first. The Pamela episode was great.

A few episodes in. Not as good as it originally was, but Fiona Shaw is a great actress and playing a great role.

It's alright. The concept is getting kind of predictable.

Larry goes to restaurant/party and meets some guy, the guy does something that Larry finds odd. This somehow comes up later in the episode and Larry either confronts the guy or talks to someone else about the odd thing that he did. It always ends up with everyone angry at Larry.

I thought the season was pretty good until that Rosie O'Donnel episode, it was terrible.

Really? Not a huge R O'D fan, admittedly, but the whole bowing thing was hilarious. This latest episode with the periscope and one-armed man made up for it, though.

No, a shame. That show is always good for a laugh.
