Yeah. I failed on putting a break between those two thoughts. Had a few beers last night. Cincy museums and stuff.

On that note, I really need to get my work done, but it sucks so badly.

other forum is still down, rather annoying, more annoying however is the tandem bike delivered by the royal society for the blind (do you guys have something similar in the US? just curious) which is completely and utterly useless, it weighs a ton, the front wheel is totally fucked and both tires are punctured, add to that it has handlebars instead of the drops needed for road bikes and you've got a recipe for the most worthless tandem bike ever, better off buying my own for five or six thousand $

Ok, well, first of all, I don't really know what the royal society for the blind do, so I think most of my confusion stems from that.

Following that chain of thought, I don't understand why the royal society of the blind would deliver a tandem bike to anybody, let alone you, as I don't know how this organisation relates to you.

Also, wouldn't blind people riding bikes be a bad idea, compounded further by two blind people riding the same bike?

Lastly, I just want to stress I don't mean any offence by any of this, I was just genuinly confused ny your post, and you asked.

it's cool mate I think I can clear up that confusion

ok firstly the Royal Society For The Blind is an Australia-wide organisation that provides various services for the blind and vision impaired ranging from assisting in finding employment, mobility training, running social groups, providing technological assistance (various pieces of tech specifically designed for the vision impaired including talking watches, software for computers which provides speech functions, hand held magnifiers for reading labels etc) the tandem bike was delivered through their sport and recreation department

they actually provide (normally) a "pilot rider" who is fully sighted and rides up front handling steering and braking and so on and constantly talks to the back rider (in this case me) throughout the ride

as for why they'd deliver it to me, I asked for it because I wanted to couple the tandem riding I'd been doing at the velodrome with road cycling to hasten my progress in the sport

hope that answered your questions mate

Why can't you Australians be even further away from the other 99% of humanity, like at the South Pole?

It has warmed up here the last couple days, but still snow on the ground. Windy. Wet. Gross.

hahaha

because then only Victorians and Tasmanians would want to live here lol

in other news tandem bike has been fixed (thanks to younger brothers cycling mate) went for a bit of a cruise, hit a top speed of 45 KPH not bad for a thirty year old bike with a dodgy chain

My syndicate is on strike, both a blessing and a curse.

A curse 'cause I'll have to night guard with other comrades the facilities where we work. On the good side of things, we're going to get really drunk. I'll be in this all week at least, probably two.

Just electrocuted myself. Nothing major. Household outlet, but I absolutely hate that feeling.

Was bitching to lady friend about it over a text only to have her reply that her grandmother is in the hospital. Now I feel like a douche for my whining.
