I like you, guy, but when you say things like this comes off as so pretentious. I spent a year doing psychoanalysis and have no idea what Jung thought on bisexuality. Anyways...

If Halford was teaching you geometry then I would be concerned, but algebra and trig are totally hetero.

It has nothing to do with being pretentious. He's a psychology student so I was trying to convey a point from a point of view he understands better and is more comfortable with. I think that's very unflattering how you spent a year on Psychoanalysis and don't know what Jung said about bi-sexuality. It doesn't matter. I couldn't care less, anyway....

It didn't come off as pretentious at all, don't worry about that. I already figured you mentioned Jung because of me studying psychology. To be honest, what I know about Jung's views on sexuality is what I've read about it myself. So far I've had no class whatsoever that was dedicated to that subject nor have I even had the option to do Psychoanalysis for an entire year because that's just not part of the program.

Precisely. I took an extensive class on Jung and have many of his books. In a nutshell Jung expresses himself in this that: every individual has both "Animus" and "Anima" in one's self. So both "male" and "female" tendencies are present in both genders (for a balance and equilibrium in personality and expression of character). His analogies are very much rooted in classic Chinese philosophy namely, Taoism. I was just trying to make you feel better. Obviously, Trapt took it differently (some discussion between you and me that he had nothing to do with him in the first place).

Seriously buddy, it makes no difference. Your one of my favourite posters and I respect you a lot. But manners are manners, no matter where your presence!

This is basically what I knew about his view on the subject, besides being rooted in Taoism. Psychoanalysis is actually being treated quite poorly by my university. It's mentioned in a few courses but no course dedicated to the subject as a whole. So if you could recommend a good book about the subject, that would be most welcome!

Jung's very own "Psychology and Alchemy," "The Secret of the Golden Flower" & "Synchronicity," comes to mind.

Psychoanalysis has generally been pushed out of the university setting, barring random mentions of it in English or Philosophy departments. And that mention of Freud and Jung in intro psych courses. The best place to start, I would say, is the collection of Freud's work General Psychological Theory: Papers on Metapsychology. I imagine that would be the most contextually relevant to you insofar as it shows how Freud thinks the underlying forces that drive what psychology studies operate

Planning on going to Motreal tomorrow to see Suicidal Tendencies, Voivod, and Overkill. They are playing in Toronto today, but I'm working. 6 hour drive here I come!

Brahm if you're reading this, which I highly doubt, let's meet up for a beer and go see Overkill!

This "real people" hoax is older than the internet. I can't believe there are people who still think they really exist.

Ha! Morons.

And if they did exist, they'd disappoint us anyway.

Hah, solipsism! Look that one up, Wally.
