Own/operate a patient transfer service. Pick people up at one spot and bring them to another. Mix a taxi with an ambulance and you have us.

And I'm a professional poem writer, better known as a poet. You may remember my main classic, and epic tale about a fucked up duck who unfortunately had no luck. You may have to do a little digging to find this gem, but it's there.

Oh okay. I think I've never asked you that before. Nor do I remember seeing that anywhere on the forums. In any case, are you happy with the pay?

I love the job and the pay is great, perks of being the boss I get to set the rates and every bodies pay, but I hate all the BS that is involved with running a business. Everybody wants your money, everybody has a problem, everybody asks questions they shouldn't, etc..

Hah, I believe your poem won against Define Infinity's one.

Do you ever have to transport morbidly obese people? If so, do you blast the song "Jesus Christ Pose" by Soundgarden out of the speakers when you do?

My poems have been officially publish in academic Journals three times in the last 2 years. They are profound and surreal, otherworldly! Not to be understood by the general public.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Was simply making fun of myself; I like doing so.

Yeah. At some point in most people's academic careers they become paralyzed with insecurities, right?

Most definitely. We're humans after all. No matter what heights we conquer, we will still have soft spots for the most ridiculous and obscure things. Human, All to human as a great man once said.

Tell me about it. I'm in management. There are some really cushy aspects of it, like being able to hand off work to my underlings so I can concentrate on things I think are more worthy of my time (besides metalreviews, hehe. I meant actual work).

But on the other hand, when shit goes wrong, the blame comes back to me, and just like you said just dealing with everyone's bullshit sucks. Customers, suppliers, payments....man.

Some days I wanna just give it all up and go work on an assembly line where I can just listen to music on earphones all day and go home at 5 and never think about work.

But the pay is too good. Damn it.

Some arsewipe cunt took advantage of the confusion on Saturday night to nick an envelope with 200 pounds in it that was supposed to go to the bank for the company. Now myself and my colleague get to pay that.

strongly considering moving to Mozambique with my uncle and working with him while i find a job there. i hated it when i first went there (2009), and my uncle is one boring-ass character who lives somewhere in the 1980's, but i've been looking for a job for a year now and bungled more interviews with top companies than most people have in a lifetime.

the company where i interned fro april to july got back to me, there's nothing in Portugal, but openings in Angola and Mozambique, so that's a start. quality of life is kind of crap, but the pay is excellent, and if you go to Angola you do like 3 weeks there and 1 week in Lisbon, so that's good.

That would be a far better move for your resume than keeping the lame job at the shop, methinks. Besides, you say the pay is excellent... go for it. And post pictures. :)

there is a lot to sacrifice though. Lisbon is amazing, Maputo is a fucking shithole, but at least you can step outside of your house, Luanda is even worse. cost of life is shockingly high - http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-livin ... is/luanda?. Indians in Mozambique are even more backwards and retarded than the ones in Portugal. racist, gossipy, two-faced, religious (both sincerely devoted and hypocritical, neither of whom i care to join)...

and living with my uncle means no real social life, so ideally i'd move in and help him where i could, and as soon as i got an outside job, find my own place.

and as for my old company, they said they had openings, not a job offer for me. they submitted my CV internally, let's see where it goes.

Oh, okay. That would still be a sexy line on your resume. "Ooh, the guy worked in Africa for a time. A serious dude who means business, we have here."
