Az, really disagree with you on Skyfall, it was excellent. Lots of fun, much better than the disappointing Quantum of Solace. Javier Bardem is an excellent camp villain!

Quantom of Solace was total shit. and i don't think they were going for campy.

the action sequences in this one were cool, the talk bits were mostly shit. the "M politician trial" thing was fucking stupid. the plot really seemed to hinge on all british security people being shit at their job, and no one remembering to tell everyone to look out for the terrorist with awful hair disguised as a cop.

They were totally going for camp! That scene with Silva molesting Bond in the chair... Plus it's hard to see how the head of MI6 could get away with allowing undercover agents to be publically murdered without serious political consequences. And being fair, it was a good disguise - they couldn't really tell the police to start arresting any blond policemen...

i dunno, the parliament scene tried too hard to be edgy. and i don't think they were going for camp with him, but with "distinct":
Bardem dyed his hair blond for the role after brainstorming ideas with Mendes to come up with a distinct visual look for the character.

wow if they had to brainstorm to arrive at a piece of shit on his head...

it also begs the question of why a spanish agent was under M's command. and the guy wasn't blonde, and the hairdo was clearly, erm, distinct. it's just weird that there's exactly ONE guy chasing him and no one remembers to alert other security people to look out for him. plus they KNOW he's headed for parliament but they don't tell the idiot guards there to get ready for the guy who wants to shoot them. and why didn't they show his escape? probably because he couldn't possibly escape a locked cage and take out 3 heavily armed guards. by leaving it to the viewer's imagination they're admitting it's just way too implausible. finally, the fucking hacking scenes, but that's a hollywood staple anyway.

I watched

The five year engagement

And

Seeking a friend for the end of the world.

Snake likes rom coms and depressing movies like the latter. Snake is a emotional masochist. If you like movies like these check em out. The first one is pretty damn funny. The second is funny at times but the ending is happy and sad. I liked it. Plus Kira Knightley is fucking beautiful. I like her.

Some documentary about Bobby Liebling being 54 years old, still living with his parents and being addicted to several drugs for 40+ years and still alive today (says several times in the movie he shouldn't be) releasing new music. The final part of the movie where he takes the stage for the first real time in like 20 years, and man does this old crackhead still know how to command an audience. And for being a bone rack, he still has some wicked pipes. A good, if not at times difficult to watch, movie in the vain of the Anvil movie.

The Avengers. Not bad. Gives me hope for Disney doing Star Wars. Downey Jr makes the movie though.

REC 3 Genesis - cool, fun zombie flick, especially when compared to most of today's zombie movies. Not as good as the first two, gone is the POV style camera and tight claustrophobic atmosphere, but enjoyable on it's own.

Watched a few movies in celebration of Halloween.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark - Beautiful sets (you can tell by looking at it that Guillermo del Toro was involved), unique atmosphere, but not really scary.

Carrie - A classic. This was at least my fifth time seeing it, and it still holds up really well.

[REC] and Quarantine - I had actually seen Quarantine first, but decided to watch both back to back to make an accurate comparison. They are literally almost the same movie, shot-for-shot. Each film does some things better than the other ([REC]'s last scene was way creepier while Quarantine had more likable characters and gave off a stronger feeling of chaos and hopelessness) but overall I don't really prefer one to the other. Seeing as how they're basically both the same film, however, I don't see why Quarantine really needed to be made.

The Watch - with Stiller, Hill and It Crowd guy, it should've been better, just another average comedy.

Cloud Atlas. Wow. Just an amazing film. Three hours passed by in what seemed like two or less. Definitely can't wait for the blu-ray which will surely have a mountain of interesting special features and commentary. I have a feeling that this will become a favorite of mine in the future.

I started it once, but got bored quickly. Will have to give it another go...

The Amazing Spiderman - 7,5/10. Was a reboot really necessary? It was entertaining and all, just feels like a waste of money.

Universal Soldier 4 - 6/10. Amazing fight scenes with Scott Adkins but with such drawn out scenes, epilepsy inducing strobe lighting and convoluted plot I still can't figure out who is who...

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - 8/10. This movie I throughly enjoyed for what it was, a vampire comedy.

Prometheus - 8,5/10. I loved this movie. Don't know what the haters are on about. Great FX and nice plot. Can't wait for sequel.

Yeah, I tried to read the book before seeing the movie but it has such a slooooow start. Will have to read it now though.

No, sequel to Prometheus, which at the same time will be a prequel to Alien. And I agree, it's a great movie, it got bashed mostly by those who think that all those Avengers and Transformers movies are good S/F flicks and disappointed Alien fans who wanted to see something closer to the original ( like me ).
