How was the gore anything shocking or disturbing that's what I keep hearing from reviews.

Of course Saw and Saw II beats it by a long shot.

I diagree with worst movie ever....

If you thought Cabin Fever was a cool mix of horror, revenge, and gore - you'll likely enjoy Hostel.

*******really light spoilers*******

Essentially:

Strange Road Trip gets stranger
A few people Die horribly
One Doesnt
He could just get away... but decides be heroic and take revenge as well.

The revenge part being the key thing that made the movie worth watching from my perspective.

There are many much better movies out right now though...

Well drakanripper, if your taste for film is like your taste for music, we can ignore your judgement.

Hardly anything worth calling a plot. First half of the movie really doesn't add anything to the movie. The second half where it actually get to the "horror" part, and i use that term lightly, have some gruesome stuff but that's about it. I was hoping for something along the lines of of Saw but I got no such thing.

I enjoyed it alot, I didn't enjoy the story much, but the violence was top notch. It entertained me, and didn't make me think too much. Although I do enjoy movies with good stories this was just a sit back and enjoy the boobs and violence type movie, which I can go for every once in awhile.

I thought it had some good moments and a pretty awesome concept. Much like Saw, there was blood and gore that differed from the traditional style of the killer comeing into the house at night and slitting your throat.

There were a few good moments. Particularly one of the tourtures scenes, the gal jumping in front of the train, and the revenge.

It had really weak aspects. oNe of which being the excessive amount of time spent looking at hot naked Slavokian women. As enjoyable as that is, i wanted more horror and the two were out of proportion with eachother. Also the camera cuts away too much before the acts are done. The one that rea.lly bothered me was when they didnt show the toe getting cut off.

Decent enough film to rent when it comes out and you have nothing better to do.

Maybe it's just that when he wants a horror movie he wants a horror movie. You can find hot naked chicks all over the internet.

I'll agree with what some of you guys have said about the violence being pretty good but that was only the last 30-40 minutes of the 110 minute movie. A good horror movie to me has a good plot and not just random violence. This movie seemed corny to me. Seven and Saw make this thing look like shit.

Oh man Saw was way better than this. Saw had a great plot and the great twist at the end. This was just gratuitous sex and violence.

Saw is a thinking man's horror thriller that is why it's one of the best because it made you think it keeped you glued to the screen wondering who it was that was doing all of these horror puzzle games and stuff.

The ending of that movie was one of the best I have ever seen never would have pegged that old man as the puzzle guy.

Apparently im in the minority on this.
I didnt really find the story all that interesting. It had a good concept about the puzzle guy but at the end i just thought it was gratuitous violence. Still better than Hostel but not the leaps and bounds beyond it that some of you guys consider it to be.

I walked out on it. Not because it was too scary or anything, because it was a piece of shit and I had better things to do (sleep). And what gore I saw was neither shocking nor disturbing.

Beware, hyperbole has hit town. It's not the WORST movie ever, I mean it wasn't "Must Love Dogs" or some shit like that.

I thought it was OK. Nothing amazing, but nothing so bad I was asking for my money back. Yeah, the first half of the movie is completely pointless, and very dumb. I didn't get interested until the Icelandic guy dissappeared(what happened to him anyways? They never said) and no the gore wasn't very disturbing. But I did like the whole revenge thing at the end. It was different, and it's nice to see someone with balls in a Horror movie for once. But yeah, it wasn't that great, I wouldn't buy the DVD or anything, but I have seen much worse.
