I wouldn't say that Jesus ever caused a lot of trouble. If the NT is to be believed, then he caused trouble at the Temple and drew large crowds to himself. This would be a pertinent reason for the Romans to execute him (and the high priests to hand him over, so that one would die instead of a whole people as E.P. Sanders maintains in his "The Historical Figure of Jesus), but it wouldn't really mean he caused a large amount of trouble in comparison to others being executed at the same time.

But the Romans were very meticulous, no? Lots of records about taxes and stuff, yet not one mention of Yoshkie?

There are a couple of historical references by Josephus but their authenticity is in doubt. All other references are well after his life, so they could just be unknowingly referring to the myth.

You'd think a Jewish upstart who caused so much trouble would get a mention, wouldn't you? Incredible how many people have been taken in, and the amount of blood spilt over it.

Note the 'if the NT is to be believed.' Why should it be believed? Has it been verified by historical experts? Has it passed every test put to it throughout the years? Are the laws it tells us to live by still relevant?

(The answers to the above are no, no, and no respectively.)

Ok, I think I'm convinced. But what about the Orcs?
