I will kill anyone who dares to say they're not awesome.

Yeah they're great, I just discovered that there are soundboard recordings of all their 2003/2004 live shows around so I've been all about those this week.

Eh. They're one of those bands I want to be awesome, and unfortunately, they're not. Antipop's a good album, but they're not a band I listen to all the time.

Listen to Sailing the Seas of Cheese really loud :) They're one of those bands that take getting used to and "click" once you've listened to them enough.

Yeah, I thought that Sailing The Seas Of Cheese wasn't anything special until I forced myself to listen to it.

Les Claypool is God, by the way. Just the fact that he can play such wild tapping/slapping bass riffs and sing at the same time blows my mind.

Totally. Les Claypool is the man.

Has anyone here heard Blind Illusion? It's a thrash band with Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde in it... I don't think they were the main songwriters but its still pretty funny. And Larry played in Possessed too. xD

My best friend's probably the biggest Primus fan in the world, and even he doesn't like sailng the seas of cheese.

Didn't Johnny Depp get pissed at them for one of their songs?

I've got a lot of respect for this band but I've never really gotten into them. My Name is Mud, Johnny Was A Race Car Driver, and John the Fisherman are my favorite songs that I've heard by them.

Great band. I don't really know what genre of rock they fall into, since they mix so many in their music. The technicality of prog, the groove of funk, the aggression of metal, etc. Sailing The Seas Of Cheese is definitely a recommended purchase, if you don't mind how repetitive it becomes after a while.

I describe them to people as cartoon prog metal :P

I've pretty much been only listening to their live albums lately, I think they're kind of like King Crimson where live >>> in studio because theres so much more energy and they improvise like mofos.
