We all have our gay bands we like, I recently was sujected to listening to The Kooks in the car with my sister and kinda liked it.

I also like Receiving end of Sirens, they're in the same style as those other two. I just loves the over-the-top vocal harmonies.

Modern emo ftw :D

I actually discovered them because I saw my friend's sister's CD sitting around his house and put it on

I helped Circa Survive with their gear at a big punk/emo/whatever fest in Asbury Park a couple years ago. I got a nice view of the guy's (dunno if he was a band member or what) ass when he bent over to pick something up. Girls' pants for the lose.

Never listened though.

They're only a tiny bit gayer than power metal.

The only gay type of power metal was early Manowar otherwise power metal isn't gay.

This stuff you need to fluff dry like crazy :P

I like Power Metal, and I can admit that it is pretty gay. Doesn't mean it's not good, but it is pretty gay.

Bump because I need a crash course on Circa Survive. I may have lied to some girl about how I'm into them, but I only knew they were coming to town because Touche Amore was opening for them. In fact, it wasn't but two years ago when I came to a show late in order to miss seeing them open. What did I miss? Albums to start with? Tracks that will hook me? Help me, Noodly wan Kenobi.

On Letting Go is a good album Anthony Green has great vocals, and it varies from faster songs to occasional acoustic tracks. His side project the Sound of animals fighting was pretty cool too with elements of trip hop, world music, and spoken word.

Apparently using the word gay bothered me less 5 years ago than it does now.

Or maybe it's my general aversion to non-shocked swearing/cursing these days.

As for Circa Survive uhh... I haven't listened to them in a long time. All their stuff kinda sounds the same iirc. Saosin's first EP has their singer and it's pretty cool. Probably my favourite thing from either band.
