Our mute friend Stefan has uploaded this recently on his blog: http://rapidshare.com/files/26340002/JZSLFH.rar password: downloaded@MOODSWINGSmusic Avant-Garde that you will dig because of the shitload of metal and hardcore, Mike Patton on vocals. Really energetic and loud stuff!! Highly recommended! |

That file didn't work for me, it got all kinds of errors when I tried to extract it.... but I downloaded it off soulseek anyways even though I can't stand Mike Patton or John Zorn. Surprisingly enough I'm on the second song and so far it would be pretty good if it wasn't for Mike Patton. http://www.ubu.com/film/bailey.html ^there's a documentary on improvisation you might like, its got john zorn in it. I thought of making a thread about it but then decided not to since improv is basically non-existent in metal. |

I dont have time right now to check the link, but is it from those 2 albums John Zorn composed and then had Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn and Joey Baron play? |

I actually like some of his stuff, but I don't know... Misha... you like some weird stuff man. This is insanity, I'll try it when I'm in a different mood. |

Nah I think its the third one in the series... John Zorn actually plays on it and there are some synths. and it's wayyy better than the other one I heard (Moonchild) |

Misha have you heard Wierd Little Kid? It's another Patton/Zorn collaboration but I think it's out of print and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. |

I've listened to this a few times now (listening again, atm), and overall, I really enjoy it. I actually saw it in a shop the other day and almost bought it, but it's hard for me to pull the trigger on digipacks no matter how much I like the album. ![]() I can understand people being more than a little put off by Patton here. Is what he's doing here really that much of a stretch from Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird" though? It's just playful exploration of the human voice as an instrument to me, and in that way it's rather fitting. Sure, I'll admit that I could do without the fourth track, or at least a shorter version of it, but that's a fairly minor complaint. -Tyrion |

Hmm I don't know that is it the same as the Ramones song? If so, whose is the original? |

As far as I know, their's is the original (Trashmen's). I'm not sure what else they did, maybe they were one hit wonders? But anyway, it's also on the Full Metal Jacket soundtrack if you go looking for it. If you're familiar with music from the 60's at all, you've probably heard it and just don't realize it. ... I've never really listened to the Ramones much so I can't answer you there. -Tyrion |

Ah yes you're right... the Ramones version was one of many covers according to wikipedia. |
