It leaked yesterday sometime. I listened to it last night and it's one of the easiest albums to fall in love with that I've heard. It's got everything that makes Neurosis amazing - the atmosphere that carries you off to their crazy world, devastating rhythms, weird and wonderful noises that you never knew a guitar could make, spine chilling climaxes to songs - without repeating themselves or sounding much like their previous albums (to me it sounds something like The Eye of Every Storm meets Times of Grace). The densest and best sound Neurosis album to date.

Good to see Neurosis have comealong and shown Agalloch, Pelican, Isis and Mastodon who is boss =P

The album is cool, but Mastodon is still the boss.

The only good thing about Blood Mountain was a certain guest spot from a Neurosis band member. I hate Mastodon, so I'm a biased jerk.

Given to the Rising= :dio:

I do not know about showing Agalloch who is boss, but Neurosis certainly beats Pelican and Isis.

I'm glad you guys like it. I haven't heard it yet, besides the song on their myspace that kicks ass, but if it gets approval from the true Neurosis fans, that's a good sign. I'm gonna review it as soon as I can (legally) get my hands on it. I'm finding that this year might have the highest ever quantity of releases that I am anxiously anticipating (Neurosis, Candlemass, Mekong Delta, etc.)

Agalloch can be second place. Pelican would be about tied if City of Echoes showed any progression at all from their last two albums :lame:

So true, the album was another dissapointment this year.

Yeah, seems to be a bad year for post-rock since the new Do Make Say Think and Explosions in the Sky were also kinda crappy.

Just heard "Water is not Enough". It's given me a lot more interest in this album. A great track, that I prefer to anything else by Neurosis so far, although there's still quite a lot of holes for me in their catalogue.

making of video with some interviews

I'm not surprised they record live, since seeing them live the sound quality was basically dead on with the album except louder and a bit rawer :)

Very good album, but...Minsk seems to have won this year's sludge poll ;)

Given... is too cold a album. It's not as atmospheric as the new Minsk and perhaps that's why I didn't really enjoy it as much as The Ritual Fires Of Abandonment.
