QOTSA's new album, Era Vulgarus, will be released in early June of this year. You can see some studio footage here on their website (just click on "QOTSA Short"): http://www.qotsa.com/ Those riffs sound great. Definitely looking forward to this, especially after the somewhat disappointing Lullabies To Paralyze. |

Oh man, you guys suck. ![]() Seriously, though, I'm surprised QOTSA is taking this kind of heat in this board. I actually thought they'd be more popular here. |

I gave it a hit. Pretty good for more mainstream rock. My same friends who go "ZOMG MY CHEM ROM!!1" like QOTSA, so by that logic they are probably the best band those poor suckers know. |

I liked Rated R and Songs For The Deaf, still to hear the s/t, but Lullabyes was rather poor in comparison. There are still some good tunes on there, but, to use an Eyesorism, it's like they lost their balls, you know? Hahahaha. Overall, Hit, and I'll be checking this new stuff out. |

Totally agree with you. Rated R and SFTD are definite classics IMO. The former I actually listened to just a couple days ago. ![]() But LTP was a bit of a step down. The band just sounded like they were trying too hard to take their music in a darker/more moody direction, but it just didn't suit them IMO. One of the best things about them, and Kyuss for that matter, was that they were a band that usually did NOT make their music overly dark or serious (ie. they were as far from emo as you could possibly get). LTP tried to break away from that mold and, while a good album IMO, ultimately failed. Surprisingly, the "hit single" (Little Sister) was actually one of my favorite songs on the album. And I really don't get why people were complaining about it being "too poppy" when it was first posted on the band's website (seriously, since when was QOTSA NOT a "poppy" band?). S/T I still need to hear. I'll pick it up probably sometime next month. |

Big +1, my thoughts exactly. And I do prefer Kyuss far, far more. |

Hit. The self-titled is absolutely amazing, and quite different to their more recognised stuff. Songs for the Deaf is also good but a tad overrated. I have owned Rated R and Lullabies for several months now but have never listened to either. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() I voted miss. I got Songs for the Deaf solely due to No One Knows, which is a cool song. The rest of the album sucked stupendously in my opinion. A friend of mine played Lullabies to Paralyze in his car once. It was so bad I firebombed his car stereo. |
