This is pissing me off a lot... theres just something crucial totally missing from their music... its not transitions (Sikth + Ephel Duath have no transitions and I love them)

I was recently shocked to find that I do, in fact, like Alaska a lot. Very little is wrong with it. There may well be a line of people queuing up now to say that all their style switches are jarring. Not true!

They have no identity. Every part they write is technically sound and produced just right but the only thing that makes it notable is the fact that it's contrasted with the section after it.

rio, once again, I agree with you. I thought I would hate Alaska, but much to my surprise, I actually think its pretty good. I think what I like most about it is that it is an interesting listen. Yeah, its not original, but I don't mind.

They probably think they are kings.. All they do is steal a little bit from every genre and include random masturbatory riffs without real structure. If i want a band thaT plays this kind of "Mixture Genre" i'll just listen to Crotchduster.

I think they are decent. But if they think they are gods they are horribly mistaken. Some of their "slow it down" parts painfully remind me of what Opeth did years ago.

Haha, funny that immeadiately made me think of Quentin Tarantino.

There are more obscure bands doing what they do better. Plus, I'm kinda burnt out with metalcore.

Meh... who cares...

Art =/= Artists

People must learn to separate art from the artist. It's OK to worship art, but not always the people behind the art, as art and artists are related but not the same. Although I understand that sometimes the artist's personal life can go against you and your principles so much that their art is disregarded.

I downloaded that and it was pretty lame, they don't improve or add their own personal touch to any of the songs.
