Album of the year by a long shot. |

Album of the year, huh? And you've got nothing more to say about it? Try again. |

Well, No Heroes takes the best parts of their last two albums - the intensity of Jane Doe and the emotional texturing of You Fail Me and combines them to make their best album yet. The first 7 songs are heavier than anything they've done before by being either faster/thrashier or sludgier. The second half of the album is more melodic and progressive, Converge channels Tool on "Grim Heart" and goes nearly screamo on "Orphaned". Basically they've made an album that covers more ground and does it better than anything else they (or any other metal/hardcore/sludgecore/whatever band) have done before. |

I just listened to the remastered version of Petitioning The Emtpy Sky the other day, and I was most positively surprised by that experience. I urge you all to do the same. |

I listened to Jane Doe the first time a couple of days ago, and i was shocked! It's really great, chaotic as hell. Ill be defintely looking forward this album and the older ones. |

I have to agree with Noodles, this is an amazing album, although not album of the year for me, I'm not really into this type of music. Anyway, loving the intensity, and loving Grim Heart, I'll definately have to buy this album. |

I hate admitting it, but I thought Jane Doe was a very good album. Their older stuff had its moments too. |

Well this was quite a surprise for me. First time I heard it, I liked the idea of such a chaotic album, but that was pretty much it. Second time around I did not think I would ever appreciate it. But then I listened to it last night with headphones before sleep and it completely changed my mind. Suddenly, it all made sense and it was just stunning. Maybe not top 10, but a damn fine album. |
