 Post subject: Any Ligeti fans out there?

Considering his recent passing I wondered if anyone enjoyed his music. I was drawn to him after hearing his work in the Kubrick films 2001 and Eyes Wide Shut and have since heard a few more of his pieces. Any expert or neophyte input on the man or his creations would be appreciated.

Aah his music was also used in the Shining... Sounds like Kubrick was a big fan...

We spent some time looking at his stuff when I was at college, but I can't remember any of it. Sorry to be unhelpful.

Yes, he was a great composer from my homeland. I consider his strangest and most 'heavy' work Requiem from 2001 Space Odyssey. The darkest music I've ever heard I think...
