Post subject: New Music Download: The Coral

The Coral are a band that confuses me. I have no idea why I like them, but they just blew me away from the second I heard them. I first heard them while I was living in the UK, from the kitchen I heard the song "Skeleton Key" playing from the living room, the video was on the Kerrang! channel. Initially I got excited because I thought it was a new song by The Dead Milkmen, who broke up years ago. The song has such a Milkmen vibe to it, just without the blatant comedy aspect.

Anyway, since then I've become a downright fanboy. They're a young British band, they formed in their teens and they play a long lost style of rock music not seen since the 50's and 60's—though they do have some more odd moments, like the song "Skeleton Key." I know a lot of Beatles fans that love The Coral. Clearly not for everyone, but out of this new era of bands playing an older style of rock music, I think The Coral stand out from the herd. Check them out:

DREAMING OF YOU (Video)
PASS IT ON (Video)
SKELETON KEY (Video)
GOODBYE (Video)

Dreaming Of You is a great song with a cool Bear in the video. As with most bands of that ilk, though, the first few songs I hear are all the singles on the radio. After DOY they didn't release anything that hooked me so I kinda lost a bit of interest.

Really? Man, I love this band. They have unreleased songs (about 60 total overall) on almost all their singles and I like most of them, too. Such a good band.

I'm bumping this fucker because this band fucking rules. I listened to them all day! I feel soooooo retro.

Seriously, they rule, and they're working on a new album. Word. Give them a listen.
