Band are called 7th Legion, the album is called Strength & Honour, there is a Roman helm on the front cover and they are from Finland.

What genre would you have taken that for?

Haha, Strength & Honour is the name of a Satanic Warmaster album, so I'd think it's kind of NSBM, lolz.

the font used was not very BM, that should have kept you from buying it...

I would have thought it was some Motörhead rip-off.. is it good btw ?

I think its a demo. 7 songs, 17 minutes long.

And bleh, there are some thrashy moments on it that are ok, but on the whole, its uninteresting. They have two vocalists, one of whom sucks horribly.

Also, I didn't think it was BM, I thought it would be some generic Power Metal band worth forking out £2 for.

You can't really see the helm clearly on that image.

I wouldve thought powerr metal, maybe with a bit folk stuff there as well (You know, like music the romans played back in the day?!?!). Or something like Falkenbach.

It looks like a PM cover to me. The logo reminds me of Thy Majestie.

indeed, but it could have been BM or PM as well
but there's a lesson to learn : never bought a cd based on the artwork

Well, that to me does not look like a logo for a BM band or any extreme Genre. On the other hand, always give the CD a listen before purchasing it.

i wouldn't be completely surprised if that album had turned out to be BM based on the cover, but it would not have been my first guess.

Yeah.
I bought The Oncoming Storm by Unearth more than a month ago, because I was feeling rather "experimental". Actually, the Unearth album was satisfactory, probably a 4 out of 5. Yet, I begin to feel a little more experimental and spontaneously bought Undoing Ruin by Darkest Hour(not sure why). It turned out to be a mistake, and a complete waste of currency, yet I have to say I still listen to two songs on the album sparingly. Since then, I've just kept listening to a lot of DM.
