The second era of King Crimson seems to be the most loved, and not without reason, and since there are a fair amount of KC fans here I thought it would be interesting to farm your opinions and get some discussion going.

Have at you.

in the end, I decided to vote for my favourite album of all time. :P

Red for all its brilliance is a little too song-based for my liking, and on the other hand the many improvs on Starless and Bible Black can be hard to focus on (although Fracture is my favourite King Crimson song.) Larks' Tongues is the middle road between them and I appreciate the balance.

also Jamie Muir's extra percussion on Larks' really seals the deal, and the marimba intro should be way more iconic than it is! :P

Lark's Tongues, for the reasons Lizard stated. I don't like either extreme as much as I enjoy the middle road here.

I have to go with Red, being that it was the first KC record I'd ever heard and for that it has sentimental value. That, and it kicks ass! :)

Tough question... hmm.. Close race between Larks' Tongues in Aspic and Starless and Bible Black.. But then again Red is so awesome as well...

I'll go with Larks' Tongues in Aspic. I'm not really sure why it just pops up in my head as the best one.. I'll have to listen to them when I get home.
