This band is so kick ass! Mr. Bungle fans should give them a listen, they're like System Of A Down meets Mr. Bungle at the circus. Excellent stuff. This new song is great!

Anything and everything. They're very good and very unique. Not as avant-garde as, say, Mr. Bungle, a bit more streamlined, but very unique still.

You can hear three more songs here: http://www.myspace.com/dogfashiondisco

Heard a song (Corpse Is A Corpse) and it was a bit too nu-metally for me. I hear the Patton comparisons, though, and there's nothing here you can't get from FNM or another of his many projects.

*sigh*

Care to explain? Another insult without explanation of cause.

*sigh indeed*

Where is the insult? I said that was a stupid comment and it was. That is no insult, I didn't call you stupid. I'm not stupid, but I've been known to do stupid things in my life.

As for explaining myself, I bolded what I thought was dumb. You've heard one song, but you blow off everything this band has done based on one song. You think that makes sense?

By saying that was a dumb comment, it's hardly a compliment, is it? And there are many, many bands I want to check out who I haven't got around to hearing even one song from yet, why give this band precedence when I've already half-made my mind up about them? You can't tell me that song is entirely different from everything else they've ever done.

That song is quite ordinary compared to their other stuff. It's a song they did very early in their career on their Erotic Massage album. It came out in 1997. The song just isn't very dynamic.

Go to http://www.myspace.com/dogfashiondisco and listen to "Pogo The Clown" or any other song there, definitely not like "A Corpse Is A Corpse." Of course, you have no obligation to check any of it out.

As for my comment itself, sure it wasn't a compliment, but it still wasn't an insult. You made a wholly ignorant statement, I think you can even admit to that.

I checked out Pogo. So they ripped off Mr Bungle, so? I'm giving it time out of fairness...Jesus, he even sounds like Mike!

Looking at it again, I see 'twas not an insult. My apologies for being stubborn.

Still think the band's rubbish, though.

I just picked up Adultery today. Holy shit is this album awesome, so twisted!! It's a concept album, this is what it's about: “Adultery is about a seemingly normal guy in his mid-30's, burdened with a wife, kids and a safe corporate job. He caves in to his own demons, and begins flirting with drugs, prostitutes and eventually gives in to his dark desires and sadistic and murderous lifestyle. This record is this guy’s life spiraling out of control into a demented and dark place,” says Dog Fashion Disco front man Todd Smith about the concept behind his band’s latest offering. “There are so many twists and turns on this record it’s more like listening to a movie at times, but the song structure still remains.”

One song, "Desert Grave," is like a weird Johnny Cash homage to a spaghetti western. "Private Eye" ends with the dude picking up a hooker, he's talking to her and shit, then he starts fucking her and ends up killing her. You won't be able to listen to that part loud, hahaha, all the moaning and shit is part of the song. Crazy song. Great album from beginning to end.

Listen to "Silent Film" on the e-card as the the song "Darkest Days," while a killer tune, is not representative of the quirkiness included on the album, it's way too straightforward compared to some other songs!

E-CARD
DOG FASHION DISCO - DARKEST DAYS

Here's a song by a side-project the singer has with some dudes from Mushroomhead, Jackass, and some other people. They sound like DFD, so I'm not sure what the point is, but they kick ass, too!

THE ALTER BOYS - FAMINE GHOST

I like DFD, but they're no match to the genius of Mr Bungle... they actually remind me of S.c.i.e.n.c.e. era Incubus more than Mr Bungle...

Incubus were really good up until Make Yourself, after that album I kind of lost them. What they're doing is good, but something is missing. The early, funky RHCP type stuff is cool, too. As for DFD, I think for those who dislike Mr. Bungle, like myself, for their lack of structure and overall chaotic nature, DFD is a great replacement.

Sure, they don't sound identical to Mr. Bungle and I think with a singer that didn't sound like Patton the comparisons to Bungle would be few and far between. To me he sounds like a mix between Mike Patton, Serj Tankian and Marilyn Manson. Musically, though, unlike with Mr. Bungle, if you hear a cool riff or vocal line or chorus you're likely to hear it again. How many Bungle songs do they have these killer parts that happen once and never repeat? I think Mr. Bungle is just too all over the place, I like DFD more because they're more focused and streamlined. Still crazy with ridiculous amounts of instrumentation and styles thrown in the mix but they write songs, whereas, to me, Mr. Bungle writes uneven musical soundscapes, not songs.

I realize that opinion isn't shared by many and I won't say Bungle sucks because I know there's only like one missing element that keeps me from liking them a lot. I still think DFD are amazing. This album is sick.

Great band, great albums. At least the ones I've heard. Check out Anarchists Of Good Taste, Committed To A Bright Future and Adultery. Gotta love a band that has a song called Scores For Porn.

Have you tried California? The tracks there are a lot more song based and focussed than on their previous stuff.

I have this album and like their other albums, I like it, but there's something missing.

Adultery is pretty cool It's like they mixed all of Patton's best projects (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, and a little of the Dillinger EP) and made something awesome out of them. "Sweet Insanity" is really great, especially since it would fit in on something like Thrice's new album. The only songs I don't really like are "100 Suicides" and "Adultery" because they make a really week ending to the album.

that said, it sucks that they broke up :(
