I'm sure all you diehard grind fans will be offended, but there are so many grindcore bands that tickle me pink. For example, I heard a Prostitute Disfigurement track (a new one i think) and I shit myself laughing! Crotchduster are hilarious as well, but I don't know if they are necessarily 'grind' or not. The thing is, even when some of these bands are being 100% serious I just can't help it, I have to at least giggle.

But this doesn't just apply to grind. Deeds Of Flesh and the grunts from Ackercocke's singer often have me chuckling as well.
All you brutal-music purists (death/black/grind metal heads) are surely pissed off with that, but really, some bands just can't be taken seriously. Maybe I'm just deranged or something.

Crotchduster is not grindcore... but you're right, grind is quite funny

TFD are indeed my favourite grind band of the moment, purely on the basis of these mp3s. I should really get hold of that record...

But anyway. Below are some good grind bands for you to listen to, Ozzie. Many grind bands are indeed funny, but any humour in the bands listed below is intentional, I believe. You simply can't have a genre this extreme WITHOUT an element of comedy seeping in. Most are not really pure grindcore but they all have elements of that sound.

Great Grindcore which is more like Technical Gory Brutal Death Metal is Brodequin. The vocals are pretty "laughable" but the technical aspect of the band is outstanding!

I actually always thought death metal vocalists sounded like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.

On a related note:

Supporting Merzbow, (excuse the unashamed attempt to reinforce my white noise credibility) I saw a really odd band called Schimpfluck. They were three dudes who had a plastic doll each, and these dolls had microphones concealed at different points. Some in the head, some in other parts... So anyway they just put maximum distortion on these mics and screamed into them for about 40 minutes.

Just when you thought it was about to get boring, they brought some chairs onstage and smashed them up.

That was a fun gig.
