Post 'em if you got 'em. Mine are Cypress Hill and Beastie Boys. They in fact rule. |

NOTATION: People who respond to this thread merely to state that they have no Rap/Hip-Hop favorites are wasting bandwidth with off-topic nonsense. They will have their posts comically edited or deleted. I like Run-DMC, that's about it. The Raising Hell album is awesome. |

I'll trust in your taste for once and try it out. What're the differences between it and Raising Hell? The most noticeable ones, I mean. |

DJ Shadow would this be along the lines of DJ Krush, i.e. somewhere between hiphop and techno? |

What're the differences between it and Raising Hell? The most noticeable ones, I mean. Nothing really. I'd actually have to say that Tougher Than Leather is the better of the two. All their albums are good except Back From Hell, which is them trying to go mainstreams 90's hip-hop and it's just not good. And then Crown Royal, which only features DMC in samples from old songs, only has about two decent songs. And Run says "nigga" way too much. "Nigga" is not a word that sounds right coming from Run DMC, plus that album has Kid Rock and Fred Durst on it. Any album but those two are excellent. |

Alright then, I'll close my eyes, spin around on my spinning chair, then jab a finger at my monitor (which is displaying the Allmusic Guide verson of their discography) and pick the album my finger is closest to. Unless it's Back From Hell or Crown Royal, of course. |

This guy has an album "Endtroducing" where he mixes hundreds of old vinyls (you can even hear the phhhhhht sound ![]() He also has a project called UNKLE were many famous singers participate, including Tom Yorke and that guy from The Verbe. |

I had a thing for ICE T (but he lost me when he did Body Count and his following rap albums) De La Soul were fun on their first two albums I also like The Beastie Boys, some Public Enemy, Grand Master Flash, Assassin (french band with very clever samples and lyrics), Lewis Parker (indie rap ?) and, obviously, General Patton... imo there's some good stuff in the hip hop scene but it remains, overall, a big pile of commercial crap  |
