Are they're any other fans of this fantastic Punk band on here? IMO, they are arguably the best Punk band ever, only rivaled by Bad Religion or maybe the DK's. Puts most metal bands in the world to shame talent wise and their cd last year, Exile In Oblivion, was the best cd of 2004 to me. Absolutely perfect nearly, apart from maybe The Misanthropic Principle, which was the weakest track on the album in my eyes

Yes, I am a fan. First heard them waaaaay back in the day, "Population Control" was on a compilation and I instantly thought of Bad Religion! They're not one of my favorite punk bands, but they're damn good!

My one complaint about the is that they just don't always sound like the same band, you know? I mean the new CD has a lot of metal influence, just listen to "Analog" for a prime example. I'm not saying that is bad, but all these slight changes kind of make them a bit inconsistent. Every CD may be good, but where's the continuity? Bad Religion, on the other hand, have sounded like Bad Religion on every album. That's the difference.

Great band either way.

EDIT: First post, eh? Do I smell Spam?

OK, i must admit that im a huge punk fan, but i really dislike Strung Out. Don't ask why, but I'd much rather bands like Zeke, Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Pennywise, NOFX (especially their weirdass songs), Sex Pistols, etc. actually the instrumental part is alright but the vocalist annoys me.

Refused are more hardcore than punk, I would say. Great band, though.

most people would say that but what makes them punk is there political views, and....there views in general. Go listen, you'll see. The cd is called "The Shape Of Punk To Come."

I have all their CDs, dude...uh...guy...dudeguy, I was talking about the music. I hate that "punk is an attitude" crap, well then you need to come up with a different fucking name to describe your music! Haha. This shit's confusing enough as it is!

Interviewer: How would you describe your music?

Band member: Well we play hardcore music, but we're a punk band because our attitudes are punk.

Interviewer: So you're not a hardcore band?

Band member: Well, yeah...we are, but punk, too.

Interviewer: So, you're a punkcore band?

Band member: What the fuck is that? That sounds gay! No! We're a punk band!

Interviewer: So you're a punk band that plays hardcore music?

Band member: What?

Interviewer: Huh?

Band member: I don't understand.

Interviewer: Don't understand what?

Band member: You.

Interviewer: What do you mean? Simple question: punk or hardcore?

Band member: It depends.

Interviewer: On what?

Band member: I don't know...things. Punk is an attitude, man!

Interviewer: So then you're a punk in a hardcore band?

Band member: Did you just call me a punk, asshole?

Interviewer: But...I thought...I thought you...were...what the...?

Band member: I'm not a punk, you dick! I'm hardcore, bitch!

Interviewer: Come again?

Band member: What?

Interviewer: Huh?

lmao scene politics suck, especially if you're a straight-edge tough-dude hardcore guy who 'dances' and does 'karate' in the pit, and you're trying to show the world how 'metal' you are by growing your hair and playing solo's.
