Jazz is fucking awesome!

Dave Koz, The Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra, Boney James, and a whole plethora of artists that I can't remember the names of right now are totally awesome.

Lol I saw spyro gyra live once.

A bit too poppy for my tastes but amazingly professional musicians.

As for me... dunno really. Saxophonists are my main interest. John Coltrane is the greatest musician of the 20th century, but I also love Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Parker, Ornette Coleman... and if I'm in a very specific mood Albert Ayler and Peter Brotzmann among many others.

You put the last poll option in order to be able to use this line, didn't you?

I actually just bought "All Aboard" by The Indigo Swing. Great album. I like how they're actually a full-fledged Jazz/Swing band and not a Punk/Ska/Alternative band with may be one or two Jazz numbers. I do suggest some of you more open-minded metal fans check them out.

Anyway, Jazz is awesome!

I can't stand jazz, to me it is the most boring music.

I don't preciate jazz... but they are excellent musicians... no one can ignore that.

Boring never, diferent structures, dinamics, variations etc.... strange and sureal, that's how I put it. But i'm not a fan though.

To be honest, I haven't really heard much. I like jazzy metal like Psyopus, so I'd probably like proper jazz.

I know shit about jazz , but I once saw a jazz band on tv and their drummer was the fastest , most versatile drummer I had ever seen.

So are all jazz drummers like this?

a few essentials :
John Coltrane "a Love Supreme"
John Coltrane "Giant Steps"
Miles Davis "Kind of Blue"
Miles Davis "Bitches Brew"
Thelonious Monk "Straight, No Chaser"
Charle Mingus "Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus"
and there's, obviously, many more but those are timeless classics for me :D

and more recently :
Esbörn Svensson Trio "Seven Days of Falling"
Brad Mehldau "Largo"
David El Malek "Organza"

hope it helped

Haha, keeping the Hellhammer joke alive, good work

I quite like Coltrane and Zorn, when I'm in the mood.
