I've won the cd in a contest a few days ago together with some good metal cd's but i'd like to hear some opinions. Now, don't start a foo fighter/nirvana flame war like in the news-section because that was just getting retarded.

I didn't listen to this new FF album yet... their previous was a huge let-down but I like their 1rst 3 albums

and I liked Nirvana too

well, imo foo-fighters make very bland music, as do nirvana...

actually, the new FF isn't grunge i think, it goes from pop rock to punk rock maybe a few ballads but in the end some pretty catchy and good mainstream songs. not everything has to be classic or kvlt. and about pearl jam, yes they are good but so does alice in chains although i doubt there will ever be a new album.

my conclusion after listening 2 times to IyH:
very good, not metal, but still good!

pearl jam are more a 70's revival band... imo the new Neil Young & Crazy Horse and a good band too !

I still really enjoy the first two FF albums and the rest have been a mixed bag for me. The band has always given off a sort of fun energy. I have yet to hear the new one but am strongly considering checking it out.

The single is passable (much better than the new Oasis), but I always find Grohl's voice annoying. And the songs all sound the same (admit it, very little variation).

Nirvana = Bad.
Pearl Jam = Gods. Metalhead, you just get better every time I log on! :wink:
