...maybe with some folk touches

Moonsorrow - Matkan Lopussa
Аркона - Ой, Печаль-Тоска
Аркона - Небо Хмурое, Тучи Мрачные...
Lumsk - Blæster
Therion - The Siren of the Woods

those are absolutely beautiful songs,
any other suggestions for this list?

Epica - Chasing the Dragon

yes. though it lacks the "folkish touch", it is more or less what i'm searching.

Pyramaze - Legacy in a Rhyme ? Not folky though.

You may also find some in Tyr albums.

Evening Star off their new album is a good tune.

Mmm. Typically the songs I tend to avoid, I don't know many of that kind. Every song I'm thinking of are in fact either faster paced and/or with growls.

That said, you may like Evergrey - When the walls go down, even though that's not really what you're looking for. My favorite Evergrey song. Not entirely slow paced though. And not sung.

Also, Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Angelheart, Ravenheart (Act I). Same, doesn't exactly fit, but you may like it nonetheless.

Virgin Black - Museum of Iscariot.

Other Virgin songs would fit this bill as well.

Second, the Type O with something like Everyone I Love is Dead.

I had no idea that song existed, after all these years. Now that I think of it, I've never managed to get past track #4 on ReLoad. The Unforgiven II really was too much to endure. Need to give ReLoad a shot.

Apart from a few things here and there, I like that song too. And this is a good thread. Always wanted to have a collection of songs like these. Checking out some of the stuff posted by folks here.

Does this fit in?
