I like how the forum is now so kvlt that no-one cares about this.

It's not bad from the perspective of a long-term fan of the band, but it doesn't exactly make me hopeful that the new album will break any boundaries. No new bandwagons for them to jump on, so they have to repeat what they did last time!

Oh, I care. I care A LOT. I just haven't said anything about it because I expect no one else around here to give a shit about them. The Blackening was one of the albums that got me into metal so I've been anticipating this since the moment they announced they were going into the studio. I've heard it and although it's a good song I really hope it'll be the weakest one of the album. Also, and I really hate to say this, it reminded a little bit of Trivium at times.
Also, that "jumping bandwagons" comment doesn't make any sense to be honest. Not since 2003/2004 at least. Yes, that's what they did with The Burning Red and Supercharger. But I don't see which bandwagon they were on with Through the Ashes of Empires and The Blackening.

Burn my eyes was good. Only stuff I've heard from MH.

Ehh....

Same old, same old? Machine Head have done nowt for me in the past. Always seen them as overhyped for what they do and generally not all that special.

Man this band sucks the phallus strongly, the entire song is a massive groove riff after a shitty nu-In flames sounding intro. These guys need to be pushed off of a cliff, horrible song.

I loves me a good groove riff, but I'm not sure this is a good one. It somewhat resembles Shadows Fall in their declining years and the melocore chorus sounds forced (or maybe the singer is just too old to be sounding like an angry teen heartthrob).

I turned it off when the really shitty singing chorus came in. The groove riff before that was alright.

I need to find new music to listen to.

Same line-up as far as I know. Or did I miss something?

I must be wrong. All these lineup changes that Daath and Chimaira have gone through I'm now applying to every band.

Machine Head have always been angsty teenage music made by middle aged dudes, which just weirds me out. Rob Flynn was born in 1968

I've always liked the first 2 albums. Good solid Groove Metal.

But they then lost the plot and have never regained it despite some glimmers of hope from Through the Ashes of Empire.

EDIT: This song is ok but nothing spectacular. Just average.
