A friend was curious, due to people claiming Joanna Newsom was friendly to metal listeners. I'm fine with Joanna Newsom and don't hate it but I'd rather listen to Julie Christmas.

I only listened to a bit of one song after all the hype for Ys, and I hated her voice.

That was a long time ago, though, so things might've changed. I'll need to give her another listen in due time.

Ugh, no. Her voice is the most annoying fucking thing ever. Plus, the style of music she plays should never exceed 5 minutes per song.

Hmm... her voice isn't as grating as I remembered, and I quite like the melodies, but her voice still kinda rubs me the wrong way. Maybe not as much as it used to, but still.

Love Ys. So far my favourite part of the new one are the pictures of her putting up her hair that came with the record. so legs. Disappointed she toned her voice since that was part of what made her special.
