not really, i just posted that so that youd read this.
what i have to ask is: how many of you listened to nu-metal before getting into real metal? i know i fucking did.
if a lot of us did, it poses the question-is nu-metal really all that bad, its kind of like a gateway into real metal...sort-of.

I heard some Limp B., hated it, much too horrible for my tender little ears. First ever metal album was an Iron Maiden one, so the answer's no, although I got Slipknot's third after believing the hype. Mistake...

Being that Metallica was the first metal (nu or not) band I ever got into, I'd have to say no. Actually, for a while, I held off on getting into nu-metal because of all the negative press it gets in the metal scene. Of course, now I can enjoy some occasional nu-metal like SOAD and some Soulfly.

Well yes, I listened to Linkin Parks first album back then but never got into anything else that could be considered nu-metal. Now that I think of it I didn't even know the term nu-metal back then but whatever...

when I was young, commercial metal was Styx, Journey, Kansas, Foreigner etc...

we were lucky enough not to have that nu-metal crap to influence us the wrong way.... I cherish those times and pity today's youth for they suffer of the media manipulation way more than we, old metal heads, did....

I used to call them Limp Biscuit, and I'd much rather eat a soggy biscuit than listen to one of their things. What do people call them, "songs"?

Remember when their were no PC's? Those were better times, no doubt about it; though the genre that I am engulfed in has only improved...

I listened to some nu-metal before i found out about real metal. And to answer the question about nu-metal being a gateway and all, yes it is bad even if some people did get into metal because of it. Playing shitty "music" is never a good thing.
